My Guess is that they got tired of peoples adds that were rediculous AND/OR people not leaving proper info pics, price, location, and proper contact info.

I have seen many adds with slightly inflated prices,  with no location and the EMAIL me only contact.

Now when I see no location I just skip by ussually,  If the price is too high I definantly skip by,  No pics ussualy promps a skip.

And the EMAIL me only with Vage info,  Yep that is a deal killer there.

Again just my guess.

Well it doesn't make sense to punish all because of the actions of a couple of people. Deal with them, delete their posts, but don't take down the entire section...

It's still there folks, but there's a new qualification to view the Trading Zone. That is you must have 25 posts. I know it may seem silly, but we're getting lots of complaints about n00bs and shady characters attempting to deal in the Trading Zone. If you have any more questions, please PM me.

25 actually seems a bit low to me...  As we've been discussing in another discussion, 25 posts can be whored in a matter of minutes.  I think it'll be hard to keep people who want to rip someone off from getting to the TZ.

Do you want me to take the magic number to a Mod vote, Forum vote, or Admin vote on the issue of post count requirements? I'm agreeing with you, but let me know how you want it decided.

We wont be able to stop everyone that is determined to rip someone off, but with at least a minimum requirement, we think it will weed out the majority of the "snatch and run" type quickie artists.

Someone would really have to be dedicated, to get to know the forum and it's members a bit by posting, offer something for sale, gain enough trust to have someone send money, and then run with it. Anything is however, possible.

Well I have been a member here since May, so I don't really consider myself a noob, I vist the forum everyday, I just don't normally see the use for me to give +1 or a "hey that's cool!" in every post. I only post if I feel that I have something relevant to say. But that's fine, like I said I think it would be better to just deal with the person or persons instead of making such a restriction. You might have a new member that is looking for something, well you have just caused someone to miss a sell or miss out on something they are looking for. Just a thought.....

We do deal with them individually, this is simply an added layer of security for us and our members.

This was a decision based out of alot of my findings from investigating some issues that were brought to my attention in the trading zone.  Now, I'm sorry if some felt that my explanation in the General HP forum was unacceptable to the point of needing to post it again, but that's where it stands.  The number of posts required may increase, or decrease.  That will have to be up to discussion, but for right now that is the system we are going to employ to try to curtail some of the more shady actions going on.  It's all an effort to make things run smoothly on this board for everyone.  It's by no means a perfect solution, but it's one we can implement now and it won't require any extra effort on the part of forum members.

For me its a inconvenience but I understand the reason. I'm here alot but mostly read and learn, don't post much.

+1  I have mixed feelings about this one. I see the Mods point, but also a lot of people are here for information and don't post much.

I think it should be higher myself. KTOG.org has ther's set at 25 and I think that's too low. And they get lots of people complaining that it's too low, yet you still get the occassional idiot who runs up 25 posts real quick and then posts a for sale add. Only to never be heard from again.  Angry
