I'm up to 1500 rounds with my 995 - I've had it for - 4 months?. Early days marred by fail to feed problems. I tweaked the lips on the magazines based on what I gleaned from some good folks on this forum - that was at 4-500 ish. Not one FTF since. Charging handle/bolt fell out once. A wee dab of Loc-Tite and no problem there either.

Greetings from a HPFF Newb, I got my HP .380 a few years ago brand new out the door with an extra mag and a box of ammo for $125. The first mag or so I had a FTF and I think maybe one stovepipe, other than that it has been a great little piece and accurate too. When I worked for my local sheriff I took it to the range and qualified with it to carry off duty enduring the snickers and guffaws of other Deputies. I let one of them shoot it and he was amazed at how accurate it was...I think he was converted

seems like the only people that talk bad about hp's are people that have never shot them....or people that treat them like a moped....fun to shoot as long as your friends dont see you, LOL

I've carried mine for 5 years as an armed security officer. I have over 5,000 rounds thru it and the only thing needed to be replaced was the mag release unit as it was weak and mags kept droppin out.

since we are talking about high mileage with your hp. do the life time warranty cover normal wear and tear? some people are talking having 5-10 thousand rounds through their guns. so when springs and firing pin's start to wear do hp warranty cover these things that's considered normal wear and tear?

From the hi-point website.
"The Hi-Point of Service: Damage, age, and plain old wear and tear—these things happen. When they do, Hi-Point customers enjoy a lifetime, no questions asked warranty. And lifetime means just that— free repairs for the life of the gun, whether you are the first owner, or the third. That service is fast, friendly and expertly performed. Your Hi-Point will be back in action, good as new, in no time. "

how can you beat that type of service? if a small manufacturer can deliver such a high quality customer service and warranty then why can't the bigger manufacturers?

Because they're greedy.

i cant for the life of me figure out how a company can be so awesome, but still have so many people talk s**t about them. i dont understand gun snobs at all. personally, id rather have a good product that you can use, and lightly abuse....and still have it function great. ill never understand people that need a $1,000 pistol to take to the range once a month. home defense, i understand....plinking....wtf?

I only have about 450 rounds through my JHP and I have had one miss feed because I loaded the mag full too soon. Other than that I have had no problems. Had a Marine buddy shoot it and love it. He even loaded it full of hollow points with no issues. I told him to keep the hollow points out of it because I didnt think it was broken in enough for them, then he tells me that the last 2 mags he put through it were hollow points and he blasted through those real quickly. I am very pleased with my $160 .45 and could ask for no better.

After being in the closet for 12 or 13 years, I wanted to give my 995 carbine some range time. I added a few drops of oil in March, and since then ive put 1,000 rounds of WWB and UMC 115gr FMJ ( I shot 200 rounds tonight at my gun club) and maybe 100 of assorted FMJ/LRN handloads. I had my first malfunction tonight, a light primer strike on a round of UMC. I rechambered the round and squeezed the trigger again, went off no prob. I havent cleaned or lubed this rifle at all since I started shooting it again 6 months ago. Pretty impressive for a firearm many people consider junk. BTW- I have 3 factory magazines, no probs with them either. Im getting 2"- 10 shot groups @ 25 yards from a bench and easy offhand headshots at the same distance.

I had my first "plinking" session with my 995TS last week using Sellier and Bellot 115gr FMJ. Peppy little round (1230fps from a pistol) compared to most 115gr +p loads that cost FAR more.
OMG what a fun little carbine. With only a 5min laser boresighting, i was playing "kick the can" double taps with ease out to 50yards using a Nstar multi rectical holosite.
Thank you Hi Point for making a very affordable fun carbine. You guys ROCK. Its the best $230 ive spent in years on a firearm.
Now i cant wait to get a new 4095TS when available.

I Wish I had the same luck. My new (two weeks old) .40 cal and .45 cal jam almost all the time. I will probably have to send it back, but I think the main problem is in the magazine design. I will let them check that out. Both safety open at last magazine round but the .45 will not manually safety open, unless you try it several times. I was nearly thrown out of Alpine gun range today with a three shell jam. Well, not me, but I was told to get rid of the gun. The problem is, that when it does shoot, it outperforms the Colt 1911 (Last week, it worked great with no jams.). Yes I do clean it with a bore brush and the ejector, too. The .40 cal I cannot get to accept more than a few rounds at a time and then they are all FMJ. One of the problems, is that Winchester rounds are very rare here. No, I do not shoot any foreign ammo. The only ammo that is around here for .40 is American Eagle FMJ and the same for the .45. copper jacketed hollow point rounds available are 180 gn Winchester for the .40 and Winchester 230 gn Bonded JHP. Will they ban my Hi-Point from Alpine gun range? Where can I fire without driving another 60 to 100 miles? HELP!!
Though I am not an expert, I love the way my Hi-Point shoots, when it shoots - it even out performs my Glock 9 mm for accuracy when I am not worried about whether rounds chamber or not. I would appreciate any advice other than sending them both back to the factor for what may be eons. Any advice?

My 995 was bought used. I didn't send it back to the mothership. Just bought some extra mags and took it to the range and fired away. 500+ rounds later my only jams are from the crappy 15 round mag experiments I tried. Other then that people look at me and my carbine and ask allot of questions how it shoots. I even brought it to a home made range with some friends where we had an AK and an AR and people seemed to pick up the 9mm carbine more then the assault rifles.
My family also owns two c-9's. My old mans c-9 got the Brown Bear treatment the other day for about 75+ rounds but it did just fine with 3 -4 jams. When I went to Blazer it was just fine. When we first purchased them the only two jams we had total was with my brother and it was then I taught him about limp wristing. After that the only jams I have had are from crappy ammo. But thats only because I got to shoot it somehow right?
Also the c-9 is a highly accurate weapon as well once you learn the sight in distance at common defense engagement ranges < 7 yards. It took some practice for me but my best friend with his first 8 shots tore the center of the target up.
