Well,  idea

What do you all think about putting up a feedback sub forum under the Trading Zone forum. I think it would be helpful and maybe there wouldn't be users posting only wanting to do ftf trades?  The way I propose it work is that you make the forum, and if a user wants to they can make a thread for themselves where people whom they have dealt with can come and post feedback about the transaction. I think this would also prevent people from being forced to post "this person is great" threads to let other people know that a user is a good person/trader. I know I personally have wanted to give some users good feedback but I don't want to make a thread somewhere every time I make a transaction.

On a side note.

Some forums have a karma system. I.e. people get a certain karma allowance and can pass their karma on to people who make helpful threads, answer questions, etc. Anyone like this idea? Although I don't know anything about SMF, this may not be possible? Heck, maybe a sub forum isn't possible either, i have no idea as i have never used smf.

Dang, I see that. That has everyone clumped into one thread. Kind of hard to look through, we all know as a buyers that we want to be able to easily see peoples feedback.....

SMF is PHP and MySQL powered if I recall.  Should be fairly easy to setup a karma system if they allow editing on that scale.  I've often thought it would be pretty nice to have one, it would be another way of protecting members (person with lowest karma ships first in a deal).

Corelogik handles the site coding, so he'll know more about if it can be setup or not.

We have Karma already built into the forum software, but when we first came back up the Mods/Admins took a vote of the members and they stated they didn't care about Karma application. Personally, I hate the Karma crap, so I don't see that as being something we actually utelize.

We already have a feedback thread in the Trading Zones as posted by godlessdustin.

But common now, that feedback thread has TONS of posts and I wouldn't ask someone to go in there and post/ look up feedback for me. Why don't we put up a poll on the karma system? But the sub-forum would be a 2 second additon, just click type the name and click, right?

I don't appreciate you locking my other thread. I also don't appreciate your response, as it was wrong, and you attempted to be a real butt. You did not cover your reasons for not having a karma system in this thread as the above quote shows. The reasons you gave in the poll thread are fine, and trust me, I don't really give a crap if you have a karma system or not, won't change my life one bit.  Had you posted in this thread that it was not an issue up for discussion and there was no way the owners of this website would implement one, I would have never made the other thread and you wouldn't have ever had to not appreciate it. I never tried to do any end-run or anything else. To me it seemed to be an idea/feature that was open for implementation by your above response to my first thread.  I have owned and moderated many forums before and I understand the concept of a private community under private ownership, it is your decision to do whatever you want with it, I never challenged that. So, are you still angry I made the other thread, or do you see where I am coming from? I guess if you don't see where I am coming from I will be awaiting the ban.

I for one think the karma system would be a good idea, and if its not too much extra work for the admin I don't see why they don't add it, its not like it will hurt anything, and it will be a nice thing to have for the people that do use it.
