We need a gunsmithing section. That away any mods people do to any gun for that matter can go there. We could have some step by step details on how to do certain mods. The sticky for installing the ATI could go there. Would serve a good purpose. Any thread regarding any kind of gunsmithing could go there.

I once had a mod tested and proven to be safe.
I tested on every condition that I could replicate at the range.
I ran it past the staff, and was about to submit a draft to the Admin.
...then it AD'd when i put a round in the pipe and released the slide... slamfired due to insufficient tension to engage the sear to the firing pin.

I'm going to say it's not a bad idea, but it should be an "upon approval" thread.

Well it would need some sort of disclaimer saying that none of us are professional smiths and that use extreme caution when doing any mods to a gun.

That isn't good enough, please see the "do not post load recipes" in the reloading zone.

i can certainly see where the libaiblty comes in for sure.  i would also be a good place for "where can i get parts" threads etc as well.

I vote for it.  I'd like to see a strictly modding/smithing section.

Honestly, that's what the Tech Tips section is for. I could see where we might be able to change the title/description of that particular forum. I'll ask the other Mods/Admins for their input.

Ah I never completely understood what the Tech Tips section was meant for.  The title is a bit odd IMO.

Primals got a good idea there.  maybe thats a better plan than just creating a new forum.

Didn't Neo at one time have a sticky about how to blue a pistol? If so, where is it? And could we just stick that in the Gunsmith shop?
