Yeah, personally I would rely on a good auto any day over a revolver. I can have 33 rounds in my Glock 17, then 33 more in about a second, then 33 more, then 33 more... It's nice having the ability to throw out hundreds of rounds of ammo, if need be, in a short period of time with very little interference from reloading. I've never had a problem with my Glock after hundreds of rounds, but if something did happen I'll gladly take racking the slide once over more frequent, longer reloads.
That's my opinion on the matter.
And you'd be right if a revolver carbine was limited to handgun sized loads, e.g. 5 to 8. Remember now, revolvers are meant for holstering, conceal carry, that kind of use, so you need to keep the size of the cylinder slim relative to the firearm itself. That wouldn't be the case with a carbine or rifle - you could use a fatter cylinder that holds more rounds, perhaps as many rounds as a typical pistol mag. From what I've seen of other folks' prize carbines and rifle set ups, width doesn't seem to be much of a concern! Yeah they could but then you'd have the added cost of making new cylinders rather then using what charter arms already has. seems, well, $$$$$$$ Yeah, kinda looking to the future if such a beast ever makes it out of the top ten stupidest ideas section. being as we have two users who cant let the idea lie, i really doubt that. SW 5 out of 8 have expressed interest. That must be a shock to you.

What is it called when the cylinder is missaligned with the barrel on a revolver?
that is known as a timing issue. usually having to do with worn cyclinder locking pawls or other parts. pretty rare anymore. SW

Firstly this is not intended as a bash on any particular user. simply the top most insane/improbable/stupid ideas ever posted. and as far as i know each of these was a serious suggestion by someone who really thought that it could be done. most if not all of the threads are still there if you go back and find them.
1. charter arms/HP revolver carbine 2. 50 BMG carbine - seriously WTF? 3. 7.62x54R blowback carbine 4. 50 AE pistol 5. 454 casull auto pistol 6. 44 rem magnum auto pistol 7. HP airsoft models 8. HP 12 ga shotguns 9. 25 ACP carbine 10. 223 bullpup carbine
Hon, mentions include muzzleloading HP carbine.
if you have a nomination for this list, PM one of the mods and we'll add as we see fit. and dont get all angry and send nasty PMs to teh mods. this is HUMOR people.

because its a nifty idea and people are saying its not as outlandish as you make it out to be, and its not, does not make it more insane or improbable of an idea, quite the contrary, interest is what makes it more of a valid concept.

Yeah, that's a real scientific sampling method there. By that logic, there may be 2500+ who would be interested if they knew about it. The fact that the topic title is "Top ten stupidest ideas. . .", and itself is buried in the Suggestion zone, probably chases off most serious firearms enthusiasts from exploring the concept in the first place. I also expect that as moderator you probably have some influence over other people's opinions on the matter - sychophancy might also play a role. It's just unfortunate that you have in predication chosen to berate and belittle what might be a viable concept, at least one that deserves more in depth analysis before being heaped upon the reject pile. You can't want what you don't know about in the first place. I would never have bought a TS if I hadn't seen one advertised in the first place.

HOW is it buried? It's at the top of the whole shebang AND the title says it all!! As for chasing off most serious firearms enthusiasts from exploring the concept in the first place. I think they have already explored it and have already come to the conclusion it's not useful at all.

I want a .50BMG pistol! it could be called the C50! just imagine the response of your homeinvader when he has a .50BMG trained on his head! Sure the recoil will break your hand but the BG's head would explode! I mean c'mon! Anyway, the Airsoft idea was mine, but an Airsoft HP (even if it's made by chinese) could be a useful training tool.
