I want a .50BMG pistol! it could be called the C50! just imagine the response of your homeinvader when he has a .50BMG trained on his head!  Sure the recoil will break your hand but the BG's head would explode! I mean c'mon! Anyway, the Airsoft idea was mine, but an Airsoft HP (even if it's made by chinese) could be a useful training tool. just don't let your GF shoot it the recoil would come back and hit her in the head |

oh, come on guys, those were just my half-hearted attemps, the real deal is a "25acp carbine with 20rd single stack mag", pretty cool, huh?  How about a 25acp pump action carbine with forward magwell, accepts 5rd (bullfrog mouse hunting) or 20rd mags (SHTF rehearsal/reenactment? ), in a laminated wood stock and sports a ported barrel? Maybe even a bayo attachment point so you can fix a M16 bayonet to it  |

I spent almost 19 yrs as a consultant at Bell Labs/Lucent. Unlike most consultants, I wasn't a programmer, but rather an Electrical Engineer. (not bragging, just telling you where I'm coming from as engineers look at the world differently than most folks). The point of this is Bell Labs/Lucent suffered ( among other maladies) a problem in differentiating between what COULD be done and what SHOULD be done, i.e. what was of utility to the market and hence a money making product. Now as to retooling the 995 to a 12ga... ... a blowback bolt for a 12ga...mmmmm....
HP has an interesting niche market here. They can built and sell an inexpensive firearm because of some very creative and careful engineering that resulted in the pistols and carbines. Blowback is as simple as it gets, and their use of zimak and access to subcontractors with a lot of "capacity" is a stroke of genius and a bit of luck.
The only product suggestion I could make would be for a 22 LR version. If 17HMR was more popular, that could be another possibility.
The usefulness of a suggestion depends on: 1) cost to implement, 2) market (who besides you and a few of your drinking buddies will want to buy it). The other thing to consider, do you have the capability to not only develop and deliver the product, but can you deliver product at a rate and price/profitability point that will keep your competition out of the market. Coming to market and then being unable to supply the demand for the product you created, just invites your competitors to "eat your lunch"... trust me, I know.
