I have that same tack-driver stock in "Royal Camoflage" from Richards. All done with inletting (lots if inletting needed) and bedding. Going with True Oil for finish. I just got a mount for a Savage 340 that bolts to the side of the receiver (round) and looks like a perfect match. it came with 1" rings and hardware for $52.95. still have a lot of work and other projects but will have pics eventually

Here is my M44

I did the bolt myself.  The scope mount is for an 860 Remington.  Mounts to the side of the receiver very similar to the original Mosin Sniper Scope mount.

I really want to build another mosin sporter. It just kinda sucks that we can't hunt with a rifle in Ohio.

Without the scope attached

With Scope in place.

Thanks.  I want to get a blank camo laminate stock and make it fit properly.  The ATI stocks are nice but they are really thin on the sides and don't bed well.  In the one pic you can see where I had to fill it in.  It is a real tack driver.  True to most M44 without the Bayonet extended it shot high and left when I removed it.  Once I made a few adjustments it zeroed right in as you can see below.  This is a 50 yard target.

I have the Limbsaver on an ATI stock also.  Got it at Wally World for $18.00.  Makes it so I can shoot all day and not be in pain.  Good combination.

Gunsmith buddy installed it and did it right, very solid and much cheaper than the $50-60 alternatives, same with the scope mount.
