I can't do it on my never-been-fired C9, so maybe it's a good indicator that the recoil spring is worn and needs replacing.
maybe that you can't do it is a good indicator that you need to get out and use that C9 Tell me about it. One thing after another has prevented me from getting to the range. And the C9 is going on two months old now...

Funny how he says that it only jammed when he used a certain type of ammo but with any other ammo it was great! uuhhh... dont use that ammo then. and as for the slide. what if all you have is one hand free? now you can chamber a round with a quick jolt of the arm. also funny how he is still going to get one.

This guys has a podcast that's not to bad most of the time but he can definitely be a gun snob. This video always drove me nuts for the this reason. It's kind of like saying I'm not going to buy a car because if you turn the key to start the engine and drive away you could hit a tree and really hurt yourself. This review was just lame.

Yeah, I saw this posterior-clown's video before I got my C9. I tried playing with the slide at a gun show and decided unless this guy has the strength of Thor, there's no way you can rack the slide just by "slinging" the pistol handle up and down.
After reviewing the video again, and the follow up "part 2", I think he may have been either intentionally trying to get the gun to fail, or was using an old, worn-out gun that needed new springs, among other things. I mean, he even admitted he tried the cheapest, crappiest steel case ammo possible in it, and that it did fine when using decent brass shells.

You can rack the slide back like that and get it to chamber a round.. I posted about it before. You do have to really try at it though, that and my C9 isn't exactly brand new anymore. But yeah for the amount of force it takes there's now way the gun will load itself like that on your hip. I've got just about 1000 rounds through it now.

figured i was too scrawny to do the slingie thing with the new 45 but my brother can do it. it doesnt lock back though, but will chamber a round. he can also chamber a round by pointing the pistol into the air then snatching his elbow back and down towards his hip, only takes him a couple of inches in movement to accomplish this. pretty neat if you ask me. i wish i could do it, but, alas, im too scrawny.

Here is my 2 cents worth: Every firearm has different options one must choose which is right for them. Keep in mind before you buy what u intend to use it for. I wanted a 45 for home defensive and hi-point fit the bill. I believe 2 things must be present on all firearms 1 there safe and 2 they perform there intended function. Hi-point does all that and then some. The best part for me was hi-point is made in the USA and I could afford it. The warranty was an added bonus.
