Just wondering if the shortages had eased up, and what people were paying. I just bought 50 9mm Blazer for $14.99 plus tax in central NY. I'm guessing that's about average for this area.

like most things back in NY, you get spanked so its probably about average.  fed 9mm 115gr 50 rd box is 9.87+tx in WM in N GA.  ammo is begining to appearing on regular basis, i even saw 380 in my local WM on friday

Local LGS currently had mountians of  Blazer Brass 9mm 115GR FMJ for $9.99 50 RD box. WM has Federal Champion 115gr FMJ for 9.47 50 RD box.  I don't mind paying the extra $.52 to get blazer brass when WM is out of Federal. Plus my LGS didn't have a limit on boxes of ammo.

Where about's did you buy? At the Dick's in Ithaca they had Remington and blazer at 14.99 and big boxes of Ultramax for 60 bucks.

And I'm definitely going to have to check out 9mm prices in Georgia when I get down that way in the next month or two. NY is just way too expensive, taxes and all sort of add on costs here. Every time I pay my property taxes on my circa 1960  1100 sq ft house, I keep thinking that it's almost as much as a down payment on another property would be. Not sure what we get for the extra expenses

The ammo situation is looking much better down here.  I was at Bass Pro the other day and I was amazed at all the ammo they had on the shelves.  Lots and lots of 9mm, nice supply of .40 S&W and .45 ACP; unfortunately, no .380.  Prices were not all that bad for Bass Pro.

Much better in my area.

Mix of Gun shows and local stores.

40S&W has been good for over a month but a bit over priced.
9mm just became much easier for reloadable 115FMJ plinker ammo. Still no cheap bulk import except at the largest gun shows. HP ammo is still pricey or hard to find.
223 is easy now including cheap imports and good US made brass.
7.62x39 can be bought in bulk again at my Cabelas and for over a month has been easy to get imported ammo.
45ACP isnt hard to find but is is expensive for even FMJ
38/357 and 44sp/44mag is expensive and/or still under supplied everywhere
Bulk 500-550 round 22 rimfire just became more affordable and available but not even close to a year ago.

BassPro Shops hasnt had squat besides a few hunting rifle rounds and tons of shotshells
Cabelas has been fairly well stocked for a month +. Some hit and miss on 9mm range/plinker ammo for $12.99 per 50. Anything else has been no problem.
Walmart only has shotshells, a very few rifle rounds and 9mm FMJ for $9.47 for Federal brand but its hit or miss too. No 40S&W at all.
Local gunshops have had very little pistol ammo, 223 and 308.
1 Local shop (Grafs) has tons of reloading supplies (fairly cheap too) but almost no ammo. I even got a steal on 50S&W bullets for reloads and 54cal black powder sabot use.
The biggest gun shows have been pretty good but prices are still much higher than a year+ ago.

My best purchase in a month has been 1500 rounds of collectible Sears Ted Williams 22lr for $15 per 500 pack. Boxes/ammo were mint inside and the carton was extremely good. It sells for about $15 per 50 to collectors. Cheesy Sorry but it all went into 3 collections including mine. Smiley)

BTW at the last show 9mm 115FMJ Blazer Brass was $12.50 for 50. Normally it has been about the same as you paid but plentiful at the gun shows.

The Walmart in Dixon IL has had the same empty ammo shelf for 6 months now.  I think that the same guy who stocks the Hot Wheels is in charge of stocking the ammo, and when it comes in he calls his buddies before they even unload the truck.

Local store report:  Walked off with two boxes of 50 American Eagle .45 ACP FMJ for $21 each.  Three boxes of 20 PMC .223 for $7.25 each.  Didn't touch anything else but had every other handgun caliber that I would be interested in on the shelves and was selling 7.62x39 by the case only.  Also convinced me to ask for reloading gear for Christmas.  Had everything in stock, in quantity, for reloading.  I don't know what his secret is, but he always has stock.

Asof today, 9mm is $13 a box. For .223 $8.99(fed or win) $6.50(Russian) a box. Still very little .22.
