I finally want to get my ccw and just got off the phone with the courthouse.so here in Bibb County,Macon,Ga they said it's $61 for a 5 year cc permit.dont know if that's alot or what because im new to this.she said i come down for fingerprints and lots of papper work.she also said it would take 30 days to recieve the permit and sometimes due to fingerprints not going through the first time, may take up to 90 days.she also told me i dont have to take classes or anything which is great because im out of work but i do make some cash while im out of a job"nothing illegal".the only thing im worried about is i dont have a criminal record but when i was 18 i was locked up over night for drinking under age and my brother "cop" talked to his commanding officer to get me out but decided to let me stay overnight to sleep it off.i wasn't booked or finger printed so my point is im hoping i dont have a record of that because she said a misdeminor would void me getting one,my fingers are crossed and im going to try to get the cash to go and apply this friday or the following monday.

Its not a CCW permit, its a Georgia Firearms License. there are no requirements to carry your weapon concealed, there are rules about carrying it concealed though. concealed weapons must be carried in a holster.. its about 60 bucks the price went up in July i think. in bartow co, the average time is about 10 days. the probate court here does your prints digitally. the biggest delay in bartow is waiting for the probate court judge to sign off on your license. took about 15 minutes to fill out the paper and get printed. if you weren't printed of booked you should be good to go. now for the must read info http://www.georgiapacking.org/GaCode/ covers GA firearms laws check out the forums section. MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND THE PUBLIC GATHERING LAWS, if thats even possible as they are open to interpretation

I am probably going this Friday to apply for my Conceal Carry Permit here in Indiana and for a 4-year license it's a $30 money order to the State of Indiana and then $10 cash for the application fee. For a lifetime license, it's $50 cash and a $75 money order to the state. You also have to bring 4 postage stamps for them to mail the packet out as well. We can only apply on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. also. The nice thing though is you can apply online through the Indiana Government website and then print off the confirmation and take that in...it saves a lot of time down at the police department. Not to metion, those things weird me out because I feel like I don't belong there.

Well yesterday the lady from the courthouse said 61 bucks.thanks for the link and she also gave me a link for info on the laws like where i can carry and all i guess maybe the same as your link.i haven't checked yet.when i was locked up over night,i was 18 but like i said i didn't have to give prints or picture taken if that is what booked means.so im hoping so bad that it's not on record because she said a mistemenor spelled wrong, would void it so my fingers are crossed.thanks for the info guys.im going to keep benching 400pnds to keep my mind off it and deadlift around 3000pnds.

Al is 20 bucks a year. Paperwork the first time, every time after that, if you renew before expiration you don't have to fill out paperwork. No classes, no exam. Its even cheaper in some counties as it varies from county to county.

I haven't yet. It's only been just over a week. They told me that it could take 4-12 weeks..........I'm like, "Oh Great, so I'll expect to get it within the next year with that sort of range!" I'm hoping to get it before Thanksgiving since I'm going to the Atlanta area for the week of Thanksgiving...there's LOTS of scaries down there, especially on "Black Friday."

I got mine in just under 5 weeks, but they did it funny here in Elkhart co. I went into the sherif's office to get printed. They gave me an envelope with my finger print card and my completed application. Then they had me self address an envelope. When I got the envelope, a week later, it had a copy of the receipt and another copy of the application in it. I sent that to the State police, along with my money order for the other $75 and it took another 3 1/2 weeks to get the LTCH. I had an additional delay because my wife volunteered to go get the money order while I was at work and put it in the mail. Took her two days.

Man, I hope that's the case for me! Here in Fort Wayne, I live in the city so I just went to the Police Department and took my money order, plus cash, plus 4 stamps down there with me and they did all the paperwork for me. I really save a LOT of time by completing the ONLINE application and printing out the confirmation and taking that with me. I think I cut my time in HALF by doing it online then going down to the PD. All I had to do while I was there was give the lady my money, the stamps, the confirmation, confirm a few questions, fill out the fingerprint card and get printed. All-in-all it took less than 20 minutes for both my girlfriend and I to be out of there! I went ahead and had her apply for one too...just in case the time/need ever arrises. I will continue to wait and pray!

I did the online thing too. It really is slick! If you don't have it by Turkey day you should have it soon after.

Yeah, it saved a WHOLE lot of time AND confusion! I'm sure hoping, but I know eventually I'll get it and the "fad" will wear off quickly. I basically applied for mine in the first place just as a way to be able to transport the guns and not having to worry about where the guns are placed in the car or whether they're loaded or not, etc. But, when the time calls for it, at least I'll be able to "pack" when I want to, also.
