Hi all, new member from Festus MO., just south of St. Louis. I just bought my first HP, a .40 JCP and was searching the internet for more information on them when I stumbled in here! Am a long time shooter, raised on a farm in Kansas, 15 years military, and just now starting to rebuild my collection after selling everything off about ten years ago.

Primal, my military service has been mostly Kansas National Guard, although I went active Army in 1982, went back through Basic Training again (required to go Infantry) and spent a year at Fort Ord with the Combat Support Company/ 3rd/32nd/ 7th Infantry. Was out for a few years, then signed up again with the Kansas Guard. My unit was called up a few years ago to go to Iraq, and the docs decided that after 13 years in an artillery unit, my hearing was shot and they medicalled me out. I fought it all I could, but in the end they cut me short of my pension by 4 months and declared that my hearing loss was not due to my service. Not a big fan of the politics of the higher-ups, but still wouldnt trade a moment of the time, made some good friends and saw some great sights!

All in all, I was a Wheel/track vehicle mechanic for 3 years, a wire communications installer for 2, guided missile gunner (TOW) for 1year in the Army, computer operator for 6 and a Heavy Equipment Transport driver for the rest, driving the BIG rigs that haul the M1 Abrams tanks here and there.
