Why would they make the cheek rest appear to be adjustable and it's not?  Make no sense, what is the point of a cheek rest that is the same profile of the stock?  It isn't a cheek rest, it's a regular stock made to look like it has an adjustable cheek rest, am I missing something completely obvious?

You are right. The cheek piece is not adjustable, but an outline in the polymer. LOL! But I did not expect it to be adjustable. What under $300 firearm has an adjustable cheek piece? I think HP wanted the stock to look cool by etching the stock mold.

I installed the factory butt pad and it greatly increased shooting comfort and eliminated stock sting for me.

Just make your own with an old mouse pad and some black duct tape  devilsidesmile

I solved the sting by applying a piece of mole-skin. I picked it up when I purchased my new Hoyt compound.

I solved the sting by applying a piece of mole-skin.

Mole skin was my first thought as well but I went with a small file and a scotchbrite pad - filed/buffed off every sharp mold line and smothed all of the edges and check sting is gone.  First time out at the range I had to stop shooting because the sting was so horrible my cheek was getting red and hot!  Sheesh...

Still, I want a nice, higher padded cheek rest for the Hi-Point carbine.  If someone made a clip on or screw on unit I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Regards,
Oly

While the cheek rest is cool, I'm more impressed with the gun rest....

Use what you got, no reason to spend $50 on something simple that works out of left over materials from the garage.

Well, your gun rest inspired me - found the screw hooks at Ace Hardware (the Orange Box had some too, but only in a smaller size.)  Good tips on the cheek pads.
