I own the same gun  your dad has and I love it. Never had a hiccup out of it after about 500 rds or so. They are a little wide for CC but I manage to get by. Eats whatever I run through it and begs for more. Mags can be a little pricy and Taurus has a lifetime warranty.
They make a good reliable inexpensive 1911.

Taurus' are good guns. I have the PT-92 Stainless version and have not had any problems with it.

I'd say if you want the PT1911, go for it.

For an original Colt. Possibly a good price, but seriously for $979, if I was going to drop that much cash on a 1911, I'd put $100 or so to that $979 and buy a brand new Kimber 1911.

CarGuy7a,

Those PT92's in stainless are great guns.
Almost a clone of the Beretta 92, at a lot less money.
Did you turn it into a inox ghost with the light gray grips?
I love seeing them shown on the beretta forum.

Na I've not done anything with it but shoot and clean it. I think it looks too good as it is LOL. Those do look bad arse in that link you put up. This one is most definately my favorite handgun I own. Hardly any recoil. I can blow 17 through it rapid fire and hit center mast every shot at 20 yds. Great shooting lil gun. I've even tested the accuracy at about 40yds and it's a little bit here and there but it's still good enough if I have to use it at that far of a shot.

I have three Taurus handguns and love them, I just picked up a PT92AFS in stainless, I also have a 24/7 compact and a 905 in stainless.  I can't wait for them to release the 1911 9mm in stainless!
