It all started with me shooting a buddies hp in 40s&w.  later that week I went to the local gun shop and he had all three flavors of HP there.  I opted for a 9mm c9.  I wanted something that I can take into the backwoods for personal protection.  I really did not want it for carry around home since I live out in the country.  I showed it to most of my gun nut uncles and cousins and they all want to buy one.  I picked mine up for 200 bucks with 100 rds of ammo.  gun was 145.00  I did alot of research on the gun before buying it through out that week.  many down em without firing a shot.  I like it and so do my uncles.

I do need to buy a few more mags and I need a holster for it.  I was thinking on a shoulder holster and a hip holster.  do you guys have any good suggestions?  and ammo selection.  I have been feeding mine sellier bellot 9mm 115gr fmj rounds and it eats em up as quick as I can pull the trigger.  but is this a good round?  I was going to try a hollow point but not sure if it would feed right.  I had a few FTF in the 100 rounds I have shot.  most of the time though the slide did not go forward all the way.  thoughts on the reason why it did not feed all the way?

thanks for having me.

most of what you ask can be found in the forums, search is your friend Smiley but i'll give some quick answers here. more mags: get them from hi-pointfirearms.net; direct from the manufacturer and the cheapest. 8 or 10rd. stay away from promag. holsters: there's a great thread somewhere that lists them all. the cheapest belt loop Open Carry holster is the Crosman ones made for airsoft pistols, about $8 at walmart. the disadvantage is the strap. ammo: for anything but defense, get something cheap that the gun likes. usually they hate Wolf but everything else name brand is fine. as for self defense, there are threads here, take a look, as some JHPs have problems feeding. which kind of failure did you have; fire or feed? It can take time for it to break in, and take a look at threads on polishing the feed ramp.

when you say the slide didn't go all the way forward; could you push on the slide and it would then go all the way in, or was the round not chambering properly (nose up/nose down) and it was jammed?
