You see, the Democrats are the party of "bread and circuses".  Why work for substanance when you can just vote yourself substantance? 

Yahoo search "bread and circuses" and learn a bit of the history of the concept of democracy, especially the potential drawbacks that many think will lead to it's eventual demise.  Maybe then you'll have a better understanding of the underlying dark humor being proffered.

i understand it, i just thought it was lame.  how many different ways do I have to say it?
