This is what I started with....

Got this from the brown truck yesterday....

And as of last night, I now officially have....

It looks shiney because the company I bought it from I guess test fires all their uppers and they coat
the entire thing with oil prior to shipping. The finish on it is actually the standard black phosphorate
found on most AR15s.

5.56NATO caliber,16" barrel, A3 upper, M4 collapsible buttstock. In case some of you are
wondering where the trigger guard is, I didn't install it because I have an enhanced trigger guard from
MagPul on it's way, should be here today actually. Smiley

You put that all together in one evening?!  What about all the horror stories I've heard regarding the difficulty of putting those lower parts in right? devilsidesmile

Yeah, now comes the not-so-fun part if you use the proper break-in procedure:  20 x 1 (one shot, clean out barrel, one shot, clean out barrel...........), then 10 x 3 (three shots, clean barrel, three shots, clean barrel........), then finally 10 x 5.  I'm only part-way breaking in my JSE upper, the weather is not cooperating up here.

The only issue I had when putting together is I accidently switched the safety selecter spring with the rear takedown pin spring.
The safety selecter felt loose and iffy and I couldn't get the spring in for the rear takedown pin. After a few minutes I looked on
AR15.com at their build instructions and noticed the pic of the springs and slapped myself D'OH! Works perfectly now. lol

KCJeff, hey man are you in Ft Wayne now? I'm going to be getting a .22 conversion for this thing hopefully in a few weeks, if you
are up for it maybe we can go shooting at H&H Firearms.

Yep, I'm here.  Let me know I'd be up for going shooting some time if I can get away from the house.

i put together most of my lowers in less than an hour.  the worst is some of the detents and springs.  some of them can get mighty interesting.

I think the jury is still out on that...
