Hello all. I am fairly new here and lookin for some advice. I already own a hi point 40 but now i am lookin for more. I was wondering, from the users view, which is a better weapon to have. I love my 40 and handle it well. I am just lookin for another to add to the family. What are some pros and cons to each of these. Hell i may even buy both if i cant decide. Thanks for any input you have.

I go with the 9mm for the following reasons;
1. Same size pistol, higher powered round 2. Ammo cost 3. Ammo availability (though this may be becoming less of an issue in some places) 4. Repeat 1 through 3 as needed
Enjoy.

My JHP sits diligently and patiently at home, waiting for the dark, dark day when it will be needed to defend heart and home, praying, that such a day never comes.
My C9 makes every single range trip and shines like the debutante at the ball,...

I second that. I bought a .380 last year because it was at a gun store and I could afford it. They didn't have the 9mm. It's a nightmare finding .380 ammo right now. I have about 350 rounds that I don't want to shoot because ammo is hard to find and fairly expensive when I do find it. That's why I say go with the C9 without any hesitation.

Id say go for the 9 for the same reasons corelogic stated. I had a 380, changed it out to a 9 because of those reasons.

no brainer. Especially with the HPs. 9mm. For reasons already stated.
-ammo availability -ammo cost -ammo availability -did i mention 9mm cost? -NATO
I have a fun little ballistics test for you. Buy yourself a big cheap ham. Whip up some "ballistic"-gel. Shoot steel (car door), glass (proofed) if possible. Leather (skins, seats, etc...) and see if you can tell a difference between your .40 and your new 9mm.

Just to put my .02 in, everyone has stated the obvious. Go with the 9mm and you won't suffer ammo sticker shock or availability issues.

Yep going to have to agree with everyone on this one. While I can find .380 a lot easier now then before, it's easily on average twice as much as 9mm.

I have both...actually like shooting the 380 better than the 9....but.....as everyone else has stated..ammo availability and cost is a definate factor. Still more difficult to find 380 than 9mm, even though it seems to be easing up a little.

Get the C9 first then the 380.
Although you'll shot the C9 twice as often due to the ammo cost.
