Hello to all. Went out in the backwoods of NC today and shot 100 rds through my HP .45. Since this is my very first Hi-Point, it met my expectations and then some. I took my deer skinning knife and carve a 3" spot of the bark of old tree.(Hope the arbor day people aren't reading, haha) My .45 performed flawlessly except one ftf, and it was the last one in the mag. Seriously, this thing out performed way above my expectations of it. I am living proof that you get alot for your money when purchasing Hi-Point firearms. I shot very tight groups at 15 yards. I'm still on my "high" from it's performance. It was kinda like love for the first time again. My sincere appreciation to Hi-Point firearms for making such a nice product here in the good ole USA and making where blue collar workers can afford decent home protection. My family of 4 thank you!

Going out again today to unleash about 200 rds downwind. The .45 is a pleasure to shoot if you don't mind the cost of ammo. My wife shoots this beast....she has no fear. Luckily the weight of the 45 does slim up the recoil felt in the 45. After lastweeks outting, I can't wait to hear that first "ca-boom" when the trigger is pulled. So addictive...I may need a 12 step prog after this evening's session at the range. I love shooting clays with my ole rem 870 12 gauge. As well, my wife shoots the 12 ga just as much as I. God, I love life!!!

Welcome to the forum from TN. Enjoy shooting that big ole 45 cause it sure is fun. Try shooting some clays with it.

Just skip the 12 step program because it won't help and begin gathering everything you need to reload for the 45. It'll save you a ton of money. Not really, you'll spend the same amount but shoot 2-4 X as much for the same money.

Amen to that,
Between Hipoints and Mosins I have a small fleet of affordable and accurate weapons that cand defend my home and put food on the table. Not sure I could hit clays with my jhp though.

Do you mean that you are 45less? Better hurry and get one, the prices are getting jacked up steadily around here. LGS last weekend, a JHP was running between $175-$225. get them while they're hot!!!

Since no one commented on the kick question, I'll drop my $.02 in the bucket.

My JHP is easier to control and bring back on target than my SR9.
I perceive the recoil as being less than the 9mm probably due to weight and heftier grips.

Yeah, all you guys that don't have one REALLY need oneWink

I'll agree.  My new .45 JHP is my very first handgun to own, and I remember big recoils from shooting my father's handguns as a kid - but I was happily surprised at the recoil on the HP.  I blasted away all afternoon without any discomfort, and did my part for the environment by reducing the wild soda can population some.  Cheesy

I bought my JHP last January for $189, since then they went up to $199 at my LGS. Best purchase I've ever made on a new gun. Great shooter right out of the box.
