I just got back from range with my M44 and now I want to make sweet love to it.
Now I know why everyone has a Nagant, it was so fun to shoot.
I didnt now what to expect as far as the "kick" was concerned, but it wasnt bad at all.
It was really accurate and even more accurate with the bayonet extended.
I am now wondering if I should go out and by a 91/30, but not sure if I can afford to spend the money right now.

Is it safe to say that if you shot someone with this rifle in the chest or stomach it would be a "one shot, one kill". I mean were these rifles known for dropping Germans, during WW2, with one shot ?

If not dead, at least very wounded. Gonna need med attention very soon to live.

FWIW, in 1939-1940 about 200,000 Finns killed about 700,000+ Russians with them. Don't know how many more Russians were only wounded.

I have yet to fire my M44 but i've shot one of my 91/30 Mosins..get one and you'll be happy. Around here they go for $80-$120 max and the ammo is about $30 for 100 rds on average. You will not regret a purchase at all.

My 91/30 goes to the range at least every other trip. Century has them at around $55 right now I believe. They are a true pleasure to shoot and everyone else will know you are there with the boom that comes out of it.

If you don't have an FFL you can't see firearm pricing but you can look at their wares. You can buy any non firearms from them without one. Get your C&R license (03 FFL) and you will be able to order C&R guns like the 91/30, M44, Mausers etc etc directly to your door.

Getting your C&R is really simple. You fill out the application from BATFE, send 1 copy with a money order for $30 to them and one copy to chief LEO in your area. Wait several weeks and you get your license in the mail. Make copies and start mailing or faxing or emailing them to all the distributors. Start ordering online or over the phone and the big brown truck starts coming to your door with rifle and pistol goodies for you. Here is a link to the tutorial on filling it out. Second is the link to ordering blank applications (order a couple). You want F7CR (5310.16). If you have any questions you can PM me. The license is good for 3 years and you can usually make up the price of it on the first order.

Hey Beeg Boy, hows it going??? Glad to see you got to take the M44 out, did you go out to Ben Avery or just out to the desert?
If you are going to get the C&R,  you will need to send a copy to Sheriff Joe he his the chief LEO for us.

Century has a minimum order of $75 so, you'll have to get a Hex. Then they tack on an extra $13 for orders under $500. Long story short: if you're just going to buy one 91/30, get it from somewhere else.

Why buy just one??? I bought 3 on my last order from SOG. It makes my wife sick when the truck pulls up. Cheesy
