Pesky zombies won't be spreading their germs any longer (many thx to Zombiehunters.org for making the printable target available):

Put a $20 red dot sight from eBay on it, as well as the HP compensator, and look how tight the groupings are. Each target has 1 full magazine of Federal FMJ at it. That's all at about 30' (range length is only 35' long), but not too shabby for my second time out with the weapon, eh?

Considering that of the 60 shots, only 2 are outside a ~3" area, I'm good where it is for now. I'm looking at a move to Nevada, though. If that does happens, I'll have a lot more space to work on my aim at longer distances...

Honestly speaking, if you're a right handed shooter, you might want to investigate your placement of your trigger finger on the trigger itself. If you put the very tip of your finger on the trigger and start to squeeze, you will inevitably push your shots to the left due to the natural length of travel of your fingertip as it beds. If you put your trigger finger on the trigger more towards the first knuckle, you'll pull your shots to the right. This combination is usually true for pistol shooters, but it does transfer to rifles to a smaller degree. Make sure your trigger finger is placed on the trigger exactly halfway in between the tip and the joint of the first knuckle.

Other than that, awesome shooting man. 30' isn't a bad range to get sighted in. Once you get some space to work with, you can move out some farther distances and really put that 995 to work. Keep shooting straight man, don't miss. Smiley

Of course, the above formula would work in reverse for left handed shooters.

I am right-handed, and I tend to put the joint on the right edge of the trigger. I've been told that promotes squeezing vs pulling the trigger, but I could be wrong. I'll make a point of placing my finger on the trigger half-way and see what that does for me tomorrow at the range. I'll have to do it with my Mossberg, as I'm running low again on 9mm shells (ain't that a coincidence)

I'm working with a recruiter about a job in Vegas, hence the possibility of a move. We'll see how it shakes out. I wouldn't mind saying goodbye to the messy, crappy January/february/March weather here. And, it'll be easier to keep my weaponry legal in Nevada...

Nice work!
I've seen sharp red dots, and fuzzy red dots, so I've been leery of buying sight unseen.
Would you mind letting us know the brand / manuf / model, so we can look?
Maybe even the Seller's Store info.  . . . .
Thanks!
