Hello, I'm new to the 995 TS Carbine and this forum. I have not shot my Carbine yet. While learning to detail my Carbine, I noticed a grind mark on the top of the inside of Breech Bolt (part 13). It can be seen easily when the bolt is opened or locked open.
Being anal and nervous, could someone please report if it is present on their 995 TS. The explanation I got was that is it occurs at the factory as an indicator mark of sorts.

Thank You,
ashlyngr

Generally there will be wear marks on your weapon from factory testing.  As you shoot it, you'll notice metal shavings and whatnot on the inside as the parts mate to each other better.  I don't have a TS, but my 995 classic had a similar marking when I first got it.

The inside of the HP guns are classic non-finished work.  In other words, why mill and polish what no one will see, unless it needs to be?  Not a defect, just a reason they cost so much less than the other guns out there.

The mark is clearly a triangular shape grind mark. I will try to get a good enough phot to post in the next couple of days.

Thanks,

I hope this photo shows the defect I'm talking about. I took it looking at a 45% angle into the the open bolt.

Thanks,

Unless the TS has a bolt grinder feature along with the LRHO feature, I wouldn't worry about it!  Shoot it and see how it does.  You're not feeling any binding are you?

That is just a sanding mark from where they sand the excess paint off of the breech face. All HP's have it. No worries.

To paraphrase the great philosopher, George Clinton (Parliament/Funkadelic):

"Shoot the roof of the sucker, shoot the roof off the sucker, shoot the roof off the sucker, shoot the roof off the sucker!"

My 995TS shoots like a dream.

Yesterday, I made a trip to Cabela's. I looked at the 995TS on display and it had the Breech Bolt grind mark. The salesman also has one with the grind mark. This salesman also called the factory and got the same explanation. Therefore, this confirms what the factory told me.
The grind mark is done at the factory as a center reference mark. I just would expect that for that reason there would be an engraved or punch mark instead of what looks like a random grind mark. The factory also told me the firearm is safe and doesn't need to be returned.
   Cabela's has a price drop from $249.00 to $229.00.

Thanks for Your Help.
