Hey guys new to the forum. Been looking around and have been noticing some people had the same issue with the Winchester ammo as I have.
I have had failure to feed and failure to eject.
What I have noticed different about the Winchester ammo over my Blazer Brass (which dont jam). First the shape of the bullet itself is different. And comparing the cases side by side the grooves for the ejector to latch onto are different. This has led to the round either not flipping outwards or the next round getting hung up on the clip at a 45 degree angle.
An easy solution to this other than modding your gun or clip is to try loading your magazine only half full. I cannot explain why this drastically changes the odds of a failure to eject but it does work for me.
BTW I have fired well over a 1000 rounds through this gun and have left the mag loaded. I still have half a box of WWB and unless I load halfway it will jam.
Good luck shooting guys.

I try to stay away from WWB because of the problems. Lets face it, who wants to shoot or walk around with a half loaded mag. I would prefer to use something that works.

I have never had an issue with WWB in any Hi-Point firearm of any caliber. Interesting to hear the difficulties of others sometimes... Makes me wonder why I've never had a problem.
I guess just stick to Blazer brass. For cheap ammo, it's good quality and the brass is awesome if you reload. That's a win in any situation.

I ran two or three box's of WWB through my .40 and did not have any problems with the gun until I switched to Federal ammo. I also have run a couple box's through my 995 without problems. I have had problems with the blazzer brass in my C9 along with another problem that I sent it in to be fixed. So I'm hoping I have no problems with it using WWB when it gets back. I have 400 rounds of it right now and would hate to have problems with it.

It may have something to do with the observations you made about the differences in the brands of ammo, but I would also point out that WWB in 9mm is a LONGER round than Blazer or UMC. Some of my problems in the past with WWB I attributed to this difference in over all length (OAL).
To see for yourself, just put a WWB, Blazer, and UMC on a flat surface. If you look closely, you will see about 1/16" difference in the OAL of the others compared to WWB.
We have both the .380 and 9mm. The .380 had been flawless, eats everything. The 9mm is still a bit finicky even though two trips back to the mothership have greatly improved its' performance. Since the two models of HiPoint are basically the same and since the diameter of the bullet between .380 and 9mm is basically the same, the only real difference is the length of the cartridge. Plus, we tend to hear of very few jamming issues on the board with the .380 and more than a few with the 9mm.
So, my little theory is that the since the hipoint .380 and 9mm models are the same dimensionally, HiPoints tend to like shorter cartridges. Every mass produced mechanical device has tolerences built in. I think if you get a 9mm HiPoint that falls toward one end of the tolerance scale for the chamber, it won't like WWB because the WWB round is too long for it.
For whatever that is worth lol.

So when reloading, seat the bullet a bit deeper?

I took my SigPro, Kahr CW9, and S&W SW9VE to the range this week, and in an hour or so managed to use up every last remaining round of WWB. None of these guns have a problem with it, [in fact each was flawless for a combined 300 rounds] but my C9 jams about once a mag and my PF9 jams every other round with WWB. Both seem to shoot all other FMJ and HP's without problems. Rather than mess around with mags, I will just never buy any more WWB.
I will agree with Splitter about the length. I have measured WWB against Federal, Blazer, StoneHart and Remington and the WWB round was longer than the others, and of course, it's longer than any HP. I really think that's the problem.
