I never seen anyone use STFU as sh@! hit the fan, only to be used as shut the f up.but hey what are letters for? Nobody uses that acronymn for that. SHTF is Shat Hits the Fan. STFU is what you used it for, and in my opinion it is an unacceptable acronymn on this site. Just because you say something in an acronymn doesnt make it any less worse.

Wrong: "STFU, you don't know what you're talking about (forum member name here)" Right: "I was eating dinner last night at a nice restaurant, and this kid a few tables down would not STFU!" That's my $.02 anyways.

If STFU is declared too harsh, WTF would probably have to go with it I agree with Strangerous's analysis.

Thanks, I've fell victim to the connotationless text before... It's hard to express emotions with these letters... they've got no emotion, no eyebrows, and no tone... it's the same for every word that is typed on the innerwebz, and it's the way it will always be. Context in very important... that being said, we got the best members in the world... Hands down.

Things can get blown outta proportion real quick. Yes, I love this place, we do have some great posters.

not really an abbreviation, but I have something to add:
Stovepipe - a shooting term used when on a (gun) line or firing range; a round that does not extract all the way out of a "semi-automatic pistol or rifle" after fired; the round will be pointing toward the sky thus with a tad of smoke coming out; to look like a stove pipe;malfunction with a pistol or magazine
Actually stovepiping is when the shellcasing gets stuck in the chamber and the base is ripped off the casing by the shell extractor, then another round is fed from the magazine into that case.

WTFE should be included to denote a particular disdain or incredible disbelief for what someone has stated, as in W T F Ever.
