Broomhead hell yeah the fellowship made for an awesome outing. The pain well...... oh hell yeah you're right it is worth it. But I am a sore puppy today. The ole back is screaming "don't you ever put me through that again!" But who listens to the voices anyway? Woody can we change your name to mister crafty? Hey for Christmas I want one of those cool, nifty, crafty camo long gun cases that converts to a sleeping bag. Maybe stuff a couple pistol bags in the stocking. I tell ya folks Yesterday would have really been the wrong day for the Russians to invade Tennessee. Which with Broomhead on the "Beast" he had it screamin like it was an invasion. Broom head I say we do this Bi-annual too. But If I am going to do this next one, I want to get started now on the planning and see if I can make the next one more fun than this was and the next and the next................
Also here is a message from the range owner. He wanted to thank everyone who came out. He says thanks for the care we took not to leave the range trashed and for picking up the brass.
Wood I have your mailing address, But to the rest of the crowd If you would PM me your mailing address I will get these CDs out toward the end of the week.

No problem Bud, but I'm still trying to adapt a bi-pod to one for that simi-reclining position ! While I have on my little mind, send me the measurement off your scope.
Largest diameter of lens Distance from top of gun to top of scope Overall length of scope

Yep, it quit raining Sunday afternoon and I unloaded. There really wasn't that much to unload, but it was all bulky stuff. I'm just glad we had the extra tables to use.
I would like the bi-annual event just not in the month of April. That is spawning time down here and I promised my grand daughter we would go fishing every week end.
Broomhead, I'm planning on taking several deer this year and a few turkeys also. I will send you some jerky from both. I wonder what jerked squirrel tastes like?...............woody

Never tried that either. Sounds yummy. Maybe you could get a brand name for it, like Teriyaki Critter, or Wasabi Varmint.
Mmm...Wasabi Varmint.
I can hear the advertising jingles now.

With all due respect to P7196, I did very little to make the Meet-n-Shoot a success. It was P7196 and family and friend, WoodyUBet, and MarioMc that made it a success! Without ya'll it would have been a father/son range visit. Ya'll turned it into a family fun time.
The range was great. There were plenty of trees for shade and a very nice picnic area. Even tho' we were "out in the boonies", the range had all the modern facilities including cable!
I told Woody that it must be something about being a grampa; we both enjoyed watching the kids shoot as much as we enjoyed shooting.
P7196, you have done a great job in teaching gun/range safety to your kids. As for turning back an invading force, I want your oldest right next to me on the firing line. I'll load the mags while she shoots! I just hope I can keep up with her!
Woody, thank you for making the trip. You are one heck of a traveler and you know just what to bring to make life easier for all. Well, except for the BEAST! I did not shoot her because I know my limitations and I have to have a functioning right hand to move my mouse at work!
Mario, thank you for bringing an awesome 30-30. I don't know that much about make/models of rifles but I have always like the style of a lever action rifle, probably from all the westerns I watched as a kid. Also, it was good to find another C9 owner that only likes the look of an 8 round mag and not the 10 round mag.
To those who couldn't make it: I am sorry you could not come. We missed you but it sounds like we'll do this again in about 6 months. We had enough guns, ammo, food, and drinks for a small militia.

does this mean we'll get the honorary long distance award Hmmm, South Carolina is only 1 letter from Tennessee where Mississippi is 7 letters away (according to the alphabet). WoodyUBet might have a better chance! And if Condition1 could make it from Arkansas... no need to rub it in... I think I would have had the distance. Work absolutely sucked this weekend, btw. It sounds like y'all had a fine old time.

I wonder what jerked squirrel tastes like?...............woody Woody I was going to make a remark about that. But I just could not think of a way to put it in a family forum. However it most likely taste like chicken. sbroomheadsr thanks for the kind words. If we ever have an invasion in Hickman county she is gonna give them a hard time. I don't think there would be much chance of anyone left from the opposing side. I honestly didn't think the girl could fire like that. Forget bump firing or auto weapons I'll just use daughter firing. She finally realized how much ammo she went through in just a short amount of time. After looking at the video she was like I did that. sbroomheadsr to keep her mags loaded you better have 2 uplulas and 4 hands. All jokes aside folks. For those who couldn't make it. You just don't know what you missed. Hey I promise in about 6 months we shall do it again.

Yes, I thought about that after I submited the post. Oh well, what the hey, it's a family forum lol. When I lived out west my indain friends told me rattelsnake taste like chicken, and my redneck friends in Ms. told me frog legs taste like chicken ! HORSE FEATHERS ! rattelsnake tastes like bloody rattelsnake, and frog legs tastes like sun dried Charley The Tuna. YUK !
I don't know what SQUIRREL JERKY will taste like BUT I do remember what squirrel dumplings taste like from child hood. I will have some more and soon.
The BEAST is now cleaned and lubed and back in her place at the head of my bed. I realized after checking the targets on the rifle range that the BEAST throws a vicious pattern. I would not want to be on the hot end of that one at any range. I wonder what it would do with slugs?.....woody
