Custom made grips
Hi there folks. Just wanted to let you know I contacted Vintage Gun Grips in Florida ( www.vintagegungrips.net) and asked them if they could make a set of custom grips for the c-9. Joy from customer service said she had never heaed of Hi-point and since it would probably only a single set the charge would be about $150.00. I stated to her there were more than one owner in the world that have Hi-points and she would be surprised to see the number come out of the woodwork. I am going to get a set but I thought it might be nice if she and the vintage gun grips would get some E-mails from other hi-point owners asking about custom grips. FYI Dennis
mod note - made this a sticky for now. SW

Re: Custom made grips
$150.00 grips for a Hi-Point? Dont get me wrong man, I like my guns but theres no way I'd spend that kind of cash on these guns for a set of grips. To each their own though. Personally Id rather get a different Hi-Point with that cash or ammo.

Re: Custom made grips
You are right. It would be nice if oerple would let the custom makers know there are other makes that they could make money on too. Thanks for your comment/

Re: Custom made grips
I contacted Paul at Designer Grips and asked if he'd be interested in making custom grips for Hi-Point pistols. Here's his response:
I'm also not that familiar with the Hi-Point pistols. I think there would be a good possibility of creating some, if we're talking about one or two styles, max. If they are like the Sig's which have 12 different models that all take a different grip, then I probably couldn't. If you think I could get several orders from a mold, then I'd sure like to do so.
If you could give me an idea of which are the most popular models that take two-piece grips, and if you could let the others on the hi-point forum know, I'd appreciate it.
Many thanks,
Paul
FYI, you can check out the grips that are currently available at www.designergrips.com
If you really have any interest in having Paul design some grips for your HP handguns, come back here and make it known, or contact him yourself.

Re: Custom made grips
I would be interested in grips for the C-9. I'm guessing here but... if we had multiple interest one of these guys could probably offer up a fair price. I'm sure they would want pre-orders. If more people here express interest I would jump on board be it vintage or the other.

Re: Custom made grips
Here is a copy of the email I sent Vintage hand grips
(To whom it may concern, I was wondering if I was to send you folks a set of my original grips for a Hi-point c-9 if I could get an estimate of what you would charge to make a set in your fine work. Thank you for your time in reading this question . Sincerly Dennis Ryan)
And below their response
( Hello Dennis...it may cost about $150.00 to reproduce if this is not an item I could sell more of. Best regards, Joy )

Re: Custom made grips
What, did my post come up in invisible ink or something? Hello, hello, is this thing on?
Let me try again.
Folks, does $33 for single color grips sound more reasonable? Including S&H.
How about $38 for patterned grips with all kinds of options available, including desert camo and day-glo?
Or $48 for kevlar, carbon fiber, or texalium?
www.designergrips.com
Still no interest?
