So I got my first Hi-point the other day and I am very pleased. I havent shot it yet because I haven't gotten any ammo yet but Im excited to. I have already polished the slide and I like the way it looks. But I have only done the raised part of the slide and I was wondering is anyone have done a full slide polish I really want to do this but Im not sure how it will turn out. Post up your pics of your custom HPs I would love to see them. And +1 for a sticky of HP pistol pics!

There is a post on here of someone who polished the whole slide. Or maybe it was on YouTube. Can't remember. I didn't like the look if it too much.

I know I seen it on another thread but what grits did you use and did you hand sand it

Be careful not to round off the ridges near the rear sight, they make racking the slide a lot easier, haha

Sanded by hand. Started with 600 then 1000 then 2000 grit.

just got finished stripping the black off and I have to say it looks really good. I haven't polished it yet but I think it will work out well here is the gun so far. any guys have a good idea on polishing? I have done the whole thing with 120 grit first and I will go up to about 2000 so I have a bit to do.

I use eagle one polishing wad. Got it at Walmart in automotive section. It works really well. Looks good btw. Nice job!

Yeah i will probably go and pick some of that stuff up. I decided to leave the ribs and top rail black partially because of laziness and the fact its hard to hand sand such tight areas. any one got any ideas of how to dress up those areas?
