Default Jennings or Bryco 9mm

3 years ago, I was reading this same drivel about a cheap handgun called HiPoint. If you don't recognize these diatribes for what they are, then I feel sad for you. I am sorry to see this HP forum become snobbed up as others have.
p7196, I don't believe I have ever seen a Ruger Pt-22. Could you post a picture of yours? Now if that is a Taurus Pt-22, I could tell you my opinion of that little pistol and those of you that like yours might take exception.
Being the proud owner of the C9, CF380, 995, AND the Jiminez JA9 and JA22, among others, which once included the Taurus PT-22, I do not understand the animosity toward the other brands of firearms some of you posters exude.
Why I even have a Raven 25 that I like.

Do I carry any of these? No.
Are they all used at the range? Yes.
Why is a zinc/aluminum alloy revered in a HP and disparaged in a Jennings/Jiminez? I don't know.
It seems to me that Paul Jiminez is simply doing what the owners of HP and Phoenix are doing. Providing affordable firearms to the general public.
More power to them all.

First off you may like yours. That's fine and dandy. The evidence speaks for itself.
1. A Jennings malfunctioned and injured someone.
2. Bryco malfunctioned and injured someone.
3. When test were done on Jimenez it failed with not 1 but 3 firearms.
4. The state of Cali. Stopped Jimenez from making weapons in the state due to the unreliability of said gun.
5. Paul Jimenez moved operations to Nevada to skirt the law in Cali.
6. Knock the Taurus PT-22 all you want just keep in mind the exact same gun was a Baretta. Taurus bought the tooling. Yes I am having a problem with mine but Taurus is taking care of it.
7. I am not a gun snob either . I speak from personal experience about the slide coming off a damn jimenez.
And I am not going to argue with you any further. Like I said the evidence speaks for itself.

You should have been there when it happened. That was disturbing.

Weapon failure happens to all weapons no matter what they cost.
ie. http://www.thegunzone.com/glock/glock-kb-faq.html

And since when (in spite of what a court says) is it a negligent discharge when the trigger is purposely pulled and the loaded gun fires! It wasn't the guns fault for not failing to fire. Its called operator error. There are countless pistols that were manufactured without mag disconnects but since they have names like Colt they aren't defective?

Sure I have several SNS type pistols and they are all well made for their intended purpose. And a few will shoot circles around my P95, which isn't really very well made at all. Oh yes I have hi end weapons also but nothing gives me more pleasure than to humble some snobs shooting ability with his Kimber after looking down his nose at my Jennings M48
Enough of my rant!

I don't believe I was arguing so much as wondering why you went off on these guns like people on other boards talk about HP's.
The lawsuit that put Bryco out of business was in California where most of us expect biased jury verdicts. And, as GWUISTER pointed out, the gun in question was NOT an inherently unsafe design. The feature that was blamed is shared by many other hi $ guns.
We have all heard the sagas of slides flying off of many different guns. Also explosions.
If that had happened to your Beretta 92, would you call it a POS too?
Part of my problem with the PT-22 involved Taurus Customer Service (An oxymoron if I ever heard one). I never found any round other than CCI Minimags that would reliably cycle through it and Taurus recommends not using them. 2 trips back to S. Florida without satisfactory results left me extremely unhappy, so I traded it for my C9.
I did notice you changed your Ruger to Taurus. 8)

msgttbar I see what you are saying. Yeah we have heard of mishaps with every gun on the mkt. As for my Baretta or any other weapon having a slide come off ,yeah I would call it a pos. If Taurus doesn't fix this one I will bet it gets traded for something else. Most likely a Kel-tec or a HPc9. I just dislike a gun that has had many mishaps. My jimenez had more probs than just the slide. I had one round go off after stove piping. Maybe mine was the exception to the rule. I hated mine and traded it for a RG .22 . Yep I changed after you said something because I never paid it any attn. ops: Shame on me.Ruining Ruger good name.
