Default So TulAmmo is bad ammo?

Ok so I went to the backyard to practice with my beloved 380. Fired first mag last week with no problems. I cleaned and oiled the weapon today. Then went out to fire off a mag. I have a half of box of Tul Ammo, 1 box of PMC, and 1 box of Allegence ammo.

Rack the slide back and first round fires okay but the second one jams. Cleared it and it jams again, clear, and jam again. Reloaded the last jammed round in the mag and then it seemed to fire fine. I found one of my shell casings and it had a crack in it.

So is this ammo crap ammo? It's hard to find any ammo around here so I gotta take what I can find.

Pistol did fire accurate though and no problems once after the first couple of issues. Is it possible to mess up loading the magazine?

The casings on Tula (especially cheap Tula) will expand greater than brass when fired.. This has caused some FTE's, but cracked casings are rare. U.S. Firearm Co's like Remington, Winchester, Federal, etc., who sell Tula made in other Countries is OK, because the quality standards are better. The cheap crap that comes in directly for Russia is nasty stuff. You can buy Russian made Tula for $0.25-$0.30/rd, but I don't and don't recommend it. I shoot only good Tula in my SKS, which it is designed for. I do not shoot Tula in any other of my firearms.

Maybe I'm lucky, but all the Tula I shoot in any of my guns has worked fine.
The AR, the HP's, SKS AK and Makarov chambered guns I've never had an issue.

ok let me try again, i would shoot it in my sks, but not my us made hand guns, he was referring to his beloved 380? hipoint i assumed which may not be the best platform for tula... i shoot the wpa stuff and brown bear in my sks i guess its about the same, I tend to stick with brass in my handguns. tula really does Suck, its price worthy for sure no doubt.

Never had a problem with Tula or any steel cased ammo, except in my finicky 1911... HP pistols tend to hang up on steel case, but carbines usually eat them up.

Yeah the ammo was the Tula made in Russia. I purchased the Hi point to replace my Mauser 380 which is suffering from weak magazine springs. I have 24 rounds left of the Tula so I guess I'll just have to deal with the FTE's until I shoot them up.

Any good websites to order 380 ammo from?

Here's me firing two boxes of Tulammo (the cheap crap from Walmart direct from Mother Russia) into a steel plate as quickly and accurately as I can from my 995. (jump to 6 minutes or so into the video).

First salvo of 80 is Win White Box FMJ. If you listen you can hear several light loads. Then listen to the Tula in the next volley of 95. I hear no light loads. Let me know if you do.

The misfeeds in the beginning were from 15 round Pro Mags I tuned to run Win White Box. The standard HP mags run Tula all day long. The Pro Mags are extremely finicky. The first 2 or 3 from each mag failed to feed (tip up). No failure to fire or eject...no split cases and the chamber on my 995 is ridiculously loose.

I have run probably 700 rounds of Tula 9mm through my Ruger SR9. Seems a lot cleaner than the PMC Korean Junk and shoots better IMO. Win White Box is good stuff...but I think it had been sitting around in the damp or something.
