@bCasss...

Your Data is very compelling.
You could make some kick-a$$ subsonic rounds with 9mm bullets

A stock-mounted magazine holder came in from Hi-Point with pair of spare mags. I'll be honest that I expected the holder to be fragile but it's a totally different polymer than their stocks and baseplates and I quite like it. Holds the mags pretty securely, seems like it will hold up to at least occasional range use, and is well enough designed to not interfere with a proper cheek weld while the butt of the stock prevents the mags slipping out.

Pretty tempted to set up a 3-50 yard run-n-gun stage in a sandpit come spring with a few firing positions and different targets. Thinking the last target could be a 6" gong at 50 yards from kneeling or prone. Because this is clearly what a 9mm Kurz was designed for.

The mag holder and mags is what most people here consider the most essential accessory.

The final commercial ammo chronograph reading is in.

3895 / Sig P238:

50 grain Liberty Civil Defense: 1756 / 1388

Edit: I could mention that I once chronographed a 60 grain Liberty in 40 S&W out of a friend's 4095TS at 2,544 feet per second.

Just got a box of plated 124 grain hollow points. Before I set up a Europellet toolhead for the Dillon and crank out some range fodder for my wife, going to set a handful aside to try working up a subsonic carbine-only 380 load.

Just need to find out how long I can safely load them and decide what charge of Unique I want to start with. Probably the 2.2 grain starting load Lyman lists for a 120 grain lead round nose. But the hollow points are definitely longer so I'll have to load them to a COAL that won't fit in standard 380 mags. B)

A 0.9cc Lee dipper threw 2.3 grains of Unique so I just scooped charges in eight test loads. The 124 grain bullets were seated to a COAL of 0.995" to deter anyone stuffing them in a pistol magazine.

Function was fine in the 3895, sights were on out to 20 yards where the load pinged empty camping propane canisters just fine. The load wasn't hearing safe but very quiet and low-recoiling. Velocity was inconsistent but averaged around 600 fps. It was hilarious.

Oh, hey, another 3895 in the wild:

Also, my quest for 2,000 feet/second out of the mousegun isn't going too well. Might have to resort to a load of highly inappropriate magnum powder and pull the trigger with a string.

E: The article linked to some gel tests, by the way.
