Hi there, I don't have a .40 cal gun...but I'm pretty sure you could get one of them 1911 .45 cal hi-cap mags and make it work. I do know that you can use a Hi-Point .45 mag in the Hi-Point .40 and the other way around. Hope this helps.

since when can you use a .45 mag in a .40 gun or the other way around????

I believe HP intentionally made their mags different from other manufacturers so that we could not mod them and use high capacity mags in their guns to avoid the last ban's definition of an "assault rifle"

I thought the 40 and 45 mags were the same , just as the c9 and 380 mags are the same . One guy on this site was able to use 1911 mags in his 45 so it could be possible http://www.hipointfirearmsforums.com/Forum/index.php/topic,29151.0.html

Word on the street has it that HP is working on this problem due to a lot of complaints about that. I'll agree, a few more rounds would be nice but I'm not opposed to buying more mags to support them and just do a few more mag changes. A single stack 20 rder would be huge.

most interesting. I would have thought using different mags for different cal sizes would introduce feeding issues... well, learn something new...

I still maintain the theory of having plenty of 10 rounders and practicing quick switching them. I have 3 10- round mags now, and with 2 strapped on the stock, it takes mere moments to swap them at the range with a little practice...

Thinking of like 15 rds. I agree w/ plenty of mags to carry but I am Building a custom 4095 and the look is what I am looking for. Along w/ the fun of shooting 15 rds. w/o a reload. Waiting on bi-pod and laser to get here and I will have pics then. OK, anyone know if the 45 and the 40 s&w clips are the same.So if they are then your saying a 1911 style 15 rd. mag. should work?

we all have a custom HP carbine. usually within a week of leaving the box, they take on their own look and personality.
So I look forward to seeing what yours looks like when it takes on it's personality.

I know mine is a 1 of a kind even here in HPFF and I like that about it

(if you want to see my 995 look for a thread called "after 2 long years)

I did an experiment tonight with modified 1911 mags(7 rd) in my JCP.
The mags fit, as one might expect, but I couldn't shoot more than three rounds before getting a nose up FTF.
The 1911 mags need a spacer in the front like the JCP mags to keep the rounds positioned toward the back of the mag.

If anyone has ideas about what would work for the spacer, please let me know.

Saw a guy on utube who made a catch release for the highpoint 45. cal. carbine and used a 1911 high cap. mag once you redo the catch release block you can't use the hipoint mag any more
