Default 995TS Magazine Holder for the Tactical Stock - Question

Hey all I was interested in maybe ordering the 995TS Magazine Holder for the Tactical Stock that comes with 2 magazines from Hi-Point. I was wondering if anyone on the forums has this holder and if they felt it was in the way at all or when shooting made it uncomfortable to look through the sight? Also if anyone could post pics with it on the rifle that would be great.

Thanks

I ordered one when they first came out and they function very well. The unit mounts very easily and does not interfere at all when shouldering the weapon. I have found that it is a fairly tight fit on the magazines and you need to place the square side of the magazine in first towards the bottom of the stock, then snap the rounded side into place. You remove them in reverse, grab the round side towards top of stock and snap down and out. Well worth the price when you factor in the extra magazines. I bought three extras they had at the Gun Store when I bought the gun and payed $20 each. The next four I got from Hi Point and they were shipped to me in less than a week.

Mine are great, they don't get in the way at all. I find it a little hard to remove the mags from the holder, but I don't worry about them falling out.

Ordered mine from mother. I got the mag holder with 2 mags.
I only had one mag, really was not interested in the mag holder
at the time but figured $6 more, what the heck. Glad I went ahead
and got it now, plus I got another Allen wrench to put in the pile of
others. Actually I keep all the wrenches in baggies with each corresponding
rifle case- never know when something is going to loosen up.

I put the HP double mag holder on my 995TS, it works perfectly and, easily when mounted properly. (The bolt replaces the bolt at the bottom of the second (longest) rib in the stock.)

When installing it, the narrow ears of the clamp are set toward the bottom of the stock and the bolt is tightened very snug and should be set with lock-tite.

The stock 10 round mags fit very nicely with the base of the mag parallel to the butt end.

To remove the mag, grasp the bottom edge of the mag and give it a firm twist outward. [i]The 'bottom edge' is the spine of the mag.[i]

The HP mag clip will hold the Pro-Mag 15 rounders but, I make no promise that they will stay secured when firing. I haven't tried it in the field yet.

Here are some images to show how it looks.

I hope that will answer every's questions on this HP accessory part.

Can the holder be mounter higher up the middle rib. It would mean drilling a hole thru the rib and the 15 round clip may not fit, but the clips would be mounted closer to the stock. It would be more compact, but do you think it would work?

The mags and holder where a concern of mine also before I ordered them. But they dot get in the way at all. The one thing I did was put a tiny bit of felt on the clip. The mags snap in very well but thenthey have enough pay to slide up and down. So to keep them from moving I put a some piece of felt on each side of the clip. Now everyting is tight and snug.
