Default Another point about disassembly.

In the youtube video I used, the guy pulled pins instead of removing bolts from the reciever shroud. Are they readily available from Hi Point? Guess maybe I should call tomorrow and ask that question. Sure would make it a tad easier.

My TS upgrade stock came with the bolts. And They didn't give me a choice of the one with the Pins instead. The pins are no problem but the retaining clips are perminently attacted to the stock with rivets. Or so I was told. So upgrading my current 995TS with bolts to the pins and retainers was not possible. If you find out otherwise please let us know.

Good luck,

Walt

My TS is identical to the one on youtube. But on my TS stock the rear pin was really hard to to remove.
Had to tap it loose with a small hammer. Now that its on my ATI stock, they slip right through but don`t have
anything to retain them into place. Awaiting the shroud bolts I ordered off of Ebay in the mail.

LOL, its never been fired yet, god I wish I had more time. Hoping that some time this week to get out to my friends place
to fire it. No trades excepted, have over $200 in accessories ordered and on the way. Need to go out after work tomorrow
and look for a laser for the mount I ordered from ATI. Saw one at Walmart that would fit perfect for $29.98. Showed my son
the new gun and he about fainted, he can`t wait to shoot it.

Oh well, have 2 water leaks to fix in the morning from water supply lines spraying water into my 46 stall underground heated garage.
Going to be most of the day draining lines to get them ready to solder after cutting 30 ft of copper piping and fittings.

The bolts are a smaller diameter than the quick pins. The older frames have smaller holes for the shroud and the newer frames have been retooled to allow for the quick pins.....modifying these holes are NOT recommended as it compromises the strength of the frame.

I got the 40 and 45 the same day on with, one without, both stocks were shaped to accept the pins.

Here is a link related to the receiver pins vs bolts. I sent my 995TS in to have pins installed & HP received it on Aug 26. So far it hasn't come back nor have I received any correspondence from them.

Thanks MoHawk. My stock has the small molded area where it looks like the piece, in the closeup photo, would fit. I guess that's what needs to be retro fitted at the factory. I'll pass on sending it back. I don't intend to tear it down more than a couple times a week. LOL
