ATI'd my 995TS
I replaced the TS stock on my 995 with the ATI stock this weekend. Didn't take much fiddling to make it work, just dremeled the front of the stock out under the barrel clamp where the front 'tab' of the receiver is. Not sure if i got the 'old' or 'new' style stock, but the receiver holes & cover lined up perfectly. But I do have a few issues:
The instructions with my stock showed an old 995 with the screwcaps on the receiver bolts, not the pivoting c clips on the TS stock. I drilled the c clips out of the TS stock and used them, is there a better way? Just wondering if the clips will stay in place. The rear bolt was a little loose so I added a rubber washer to increase the tension, but I'm wondering if upgrading to the older style receiver bolts would be a better long term solution.
To keep the rear sight at the correct height I had to reuse the weaver rail. The front half of it is unsupported and I will probably go back and cut it down. But that won't give me any place to add a red dot in the future. other option is to replace the plastic weaver rail with one of the aftermarket aluminum rails, at least that would be stiff enough to support a red dot.
The LRHO function works fine and I didn't modify the stock for this. I know the older ATIs had to be reamed out for this new feature, mine didn't. That makes me think I have the correct version. So I'm not sure what i actually got. The instructions didn't seem to specify. But installation was easy with the info i got on this board and I'm looking forward to our first range trip.

Wanderson, I was curious about why you did not care for the TS style stock. I actually just recently bought the 995TS because of the new style stock. Did not care for the classic stock. Was it just 'cause?

Unless you want to co-witness a red dot with your irons, just swap them out for the red dot.
Also, it might be possible to get a classic front sight post, it is shorter than the TS post; that would make it so you don't need the extra height at the rear for the irons; though would be unnecessary for the red dot.

Re: ATI'd my 995TS
Good suggestion on the older front sight post. But my cheek weld is perfect with the higher sight line, when I first put it together I had mounted the rear sight directly to the receiver cover and noticed it was a little low for my preference. So I'll stay with the rail, probably just cut down what I have. As far as to WHY I went with the ATI, it's just my preference. I've always liked the Beretta Storm CX4 but for the asking price I can get a Hi-point 9mm & 45 carbine and still have enough left over for a Kel Tec SU-2000. The TS is a great stock and if I were mounting accessories I'd probably have stayed with it. But I have two ARs with a ton of accessories that move between the two, the Hi-point wasn't going to have anything more than a red dot or some cheap optics, like a 4x32 scope. Eventually I plan to pick up a 4595 also (whenever I come across one) and that one will keep it's original stock. So I just wanted the 9mm to be different. Simple.

Re: ATI'd my 995TS
OK Guys, I have figured out the whole ATI stock fitting the new TS retaining bolt dilemma... As others have stated, the old 995 has threaded bolts to reuse but the new 995ts has the piece attached to the stock. (Side bar: called Hi-Point: they definitely will not warranted adding third party stock) I was asking about purchasing the nut and bolt and it was a no go. Back to the story, go to your local auto zone and purchase some "e clips" literally, they cost $2.58 and work like a charm. Simple assemble per the ATI instructions, when you slide the factory retaining rod (let's call it that because I don't know the right term), simply push the e-ring on. It is literally that easy. Just got back from the range with absolutely no problems. Hope this helps some of ya'll. Happy shooting

Re: ATI'd my 995TS
I was looking for replacement clips when I stumbled across a link in a previous thread to TGRenterprises' Brass Stacker receiver shroud bolts for the 'classic' 995 (on ebay). $10 and they work like a charm.

Re: ATI'd my 995TS
Thanks for the info in this thread!
Last night I picked up my 995TS at my local dealer/range and brought it home to immediatley start the ATI conversion.......
only to find out that the barrel assembly/shroud could not be securely mounted in the ATI because the TS OEM was held in by rods with clips that are RIVETED into the OEM stock. Didn't want to drill them out.
Looks like I wil be hitting Autozone for some clips (Thanks for the advice!)
Good News on coversion:
-Looks Gorgeous
-My $29.99 4x32 Scope fit on theTS top rail once I also purchased $16.99 weaver rail adapters
- Didn't have to dremmel the stock for the LR spring and clip assembly
-EBAY Aluminum bottom rail,Aluminum barrel diffuser, ebay bipod/grip and ATI butt pad all Fit PERFECT
Bad News on conversion:
- Need to get clips to hold rods intact on new stock to attach reciever and shroud assembly
-Spent 30 minutes grinding away at ATI stock UNDER THE BARREL to fit into the stock as stated by thread starter
-The 42mm Red Dot scope I got from cabelas won't fit on the weaver rail , it only has a 3/8-5/8 rail compatibility
Can't wait to complete it and head to the range!!!

Re: ATI'd my 995TS
Here is the email I received back from ATI regarding my inquiry over damage to HP carbines
Mr. Holst,
I am sorry if you were misinformed by another manufacturer, but we have experienced no issues with the firing pins, extractors, or receivers once the ATI stock is installed. This product has gone through vigorous testing without failure. I can not address the warranty of another manufacturer, but ATI has a Lifetime Warranty on all stocks and accessories. If you have any issues with our stock please feel free to contact us immediately, and we will be happy to help.
Best Regards,
