favorite red dot/holographic?
I am new to Hi Point, I just bought a 995ts and I love it. It is my favorite gun in my safe. I want to know what are some good optics to put on the 995 but I want to know what you guys think. Please post pics of yours with the optics on it and please give me some details on the scope. I'm trying to buy one for around 100, I don't want to buy a POS. Let me know what you guys think...

i have a vortex strikefire on my ar and put over 500 rounds and still holds 0 at 150 yard, my ak i have a leatherwood hilux red dot on it and it also holds 0 at 150 yards. i plan on putting a primary arms m3 red dot on my 995ts. i did my research before purchasing optics, forums reviews ect.. here are links.
i got both leatherwood and vortex on opticsplanet, you can also search those product on yourtube and have good reviews on them

Re: favorite red dot/holographic?
Check out the aimpoints on ebay. Most of them are knock-offs of the real thing, I don't mean those.....I mean the real ones. I have 3 mark III aimpoints (old style) that set me back less than 50 bucks TOTAL. All three work fine, they are aimpoints.

Re: favorite red dot/holographic?
I have Primary Arms' M4 red dot and their 50mm scope, both have performed very well for the price. The M4 red dot will last forever on one AA battery and it's clear but it is a heavy/bulky setup compared to their mini/micro red dots, although it works well with their 5x magnifier. I also have a Truglo open reflex sight (not the tube type, but the multi reticle one) on both an AR rifle and .223 pistol. This is my favorite setup for a red dot as it's fast and has the least obstruction of view, although beyond 25 yards there is a very small shift between the different reticles so I pick one and stay with it for accuracy's sake.

wanderson, "although beyond 25 yards there is a very small shift between the different reticles so I pick one and stay with it for accuracy's sake", that is an interesting point. Thanks for adding that. Although, after hearing it I am not surprised. Just had never occurred to me that there might be a shift.

Re: favorite red dot/holographic?
My favorites are the Primary Arms Micro Dot on my AK, and my Muellar Quick Shot which now resides on my AR. I plan on ordering the Primary Arms 1-4x scope on my AR soon.

Re: favorite red dot/holographic?
regarding the shift in reticle mentioned above, although I generally stay on the dot-within-a-circle reticle for all my shooting, when I first got it on my AR I'd tweak the 3MOA single dot for 100yds and the dot-within-a-circle for 10 to 25 yd accuracy was fine.
One caveat regarding the red dot/reflex sights. I wear glasses and I'm not sure if it's my eyes getting older, or a difference in my old vs new lenses, but i seem to be getting more image shift/ghosting than I used to from the same optic sight. But I have no problems with iron sights or scopes.

Re: favorite red dot/holographic?
Sightmark on my 995, has been an excellent reflex sight. Deadly accurate at 50 yards, in the kill zone consistently without any problems..............

Re: favorite red dot/holographic?
I've tried several different kinds but I think my favorite is the ATN ultra sight that I have on my 4095. I've shot over 700 Rd's through it and have yet had to re-sight it!
