Has anyone done a single point sling mount?
I was looking at my 4095TS trying to figure out how to do a single point sling mount and was wondering if anyone has come up with a good way to do this? I was thinking about possibly rigging something up with the TS stock but wasnt sure what I wanted to do. If anyone has done this and has pics, would you please post them with any info that may be helpful?
Sorry of this has already been posted, but I was unable to find anything when doing a search of the forum.
Thanks

Re: Has anyone done a single point sling mount?
I'm thinking you could do it by attaching your sling to one of the crossmembers in the buttstock. However, I've never done a single point sling that way.
When I first got my 995TS, this is how I attached my sling. I wasn't very excited about removing any screws out of the firearm right off the bat.
You could go around one of the crossmembers, like I said, or go in the smaller opening in the foreward part of the buttstock. Your call.

Yeah, I actually thought of doing it thru the small forward hole. I was wondering if it got in the way of firing or not, that why I asked to see if anyone tried it. Also, I am thinking of trying to make it removable with some kind of clip, so it would be easy and not have to be unbuckled. Thanks

Yep, using a clip would be a good adaptation. And I think it's back far enough to be out of the way, no problem. So take your best shot and post your results.

Re: Has anyone done a single point sling mount?
I was also trying to come up with some sling options. One was a single point on left side of 995TS. The rail mount swivels seemed to be quite expensive. In shopping around I ran across a place that has some sling hardware that is more affordable. So with all the creative guys we have on this forum, take a look at this sight and see what you can come up with.

Yeah, I had the same thought when I read that, but I don't count myself among the mag nazis any more, especially since some of the gun manufacturers have started calling them clips, or "clip magazines" in their literature in order to differentiate them from tube style magazines, as in 22lr firearms. Everybody, and I do mean EVERYBODY knows exactly what you mean when you say clip. I'm not in the Marine Corps anymore, so sometimes I say clip, and sometimes I put my hands in my pockets, too.

p-t, I had to smile when I read your post "sometimes I put my hands in my pockets, too". I have been known to leave my hat on indoors on occasion.

Re: Has anyone done a single point sling mount?
Thanks for the ideas guys!! WestCoastal, I like your idea with the shotgun swivel. Is it mounted with the bolt going straight thru, or is it threaded?
