No last round device, only the bolt handle that can be used to lock the bolt back.

Scope mounting on the classic requires a scope rail, they came with the gun, but many used guns won't have them. The factory will send you one for free, if you call them, or you can buy aftermarket models on Ebay.

The factory one is a short non-standard rail, most Weavers will work, Pic stuff won't. You remove the receiver cover, take off the irons, and mount the rail in their place, and put the cover back on the gun. It is short, but functional.

You can sorta almost see it in this picture.

Default About the mounting rail

Since the hi point company has such excellent customer service and, the weapons have a life time warranty, would they put the scope mounting rail on at no cost? Just wondering!

Easy to switch from iron sights to scope. 4 screws remove the iron sights and the same screws install the metal rail. When I bought my old style 995 it had a red dot scope on it, but the lens was chipped and it distorted the scope, so I put the iron sights back on. Actually I prefer the iron sights. And as stated, the breech is manually opened and closed. One suggestion if you are having problems with the roller insert that locks the bolt open, you can buy a re-designed aftermarket one that works real good.
Ebay sells them http://www.ebay.com/itm/150852802682?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p398 4.m1439.l2649

Edit: eBay also sells the metal rail for the 995, but not sure about price. You can probably get one free from Hi-Point if you can ever get a clear phone line to their repair center.

This isn't like drilling and tapping a rifle, it's REALLY easy; I definitely wouldn't bother paying shipping just to get it done. But you need to take the cover off, because the bolts that hold the rail (or rear iron) are screwed into small plates that will fall inside the gun, once the screws are removed. Much easier to handle when you have access to the underside of the cover.

And a big +1 to ArmyScouts suggestion about the aftermarket bolt handle.

Some of the 995s had the LRHO feature right before the release of the TS model.
