Those will fit pretty much all the carbines, just be aware that you lose the ability to manually lock the bolt back with them though.

writer, is it required to remove metal from the cover on right side to install this item? Thought I read that in one of the threads.

I know you have to shave a bit off the top to just switch a bolt type over to the right, but not sure on this one since it looks to use a smaller bolt that runs through the insert, it might be thin enough that you don't have to.

Looking closer at it, it looks like it is made to run inside the receiver cover, that is the only reason I can see for the slot cut up by the handle, and the beveled edge on the top kind of indicates to me that is how it installs.

Now that I have thought about it for a few hours, I am right handed and I load the mag with my left hand while holding the gun with my right. If I switched over to having the charging handle on the right side, I would then catch myself switching hands holding the gun and then using my right hand for the charging handle. I am beginning to wonder if this is what Mom had in mind all along when designing these carbines. Seems to me that it would be much easier and faster to come up on target with it designed just the way it is. What are your thoughts?

Being a lefty I see no reason for this mod. Seems made for lefties like the safety on the AR15/M16 platform. When I rule the world, everyone will be required to turn in their right handed bolt action weapons so they can be converted to having the bolt handle on the left side.
All that ranting aside it sure looks like is should work and is a very clever idea.

That does look quite functional, but it's okay with me that the charging handle's on the left, too.
