Default broken

My foot, that is.

I borked it Wen. at Judo. Not even a fun story. I was helping my 11yo son work on his test and I totally borked a hop-over defense, tripped, didn't have enough momentum to carry me over into a useful backfall, hyper-extended my foot and landed on top of the sole with the top of my foot to the ground.

Broke.

Didn't hurt THAT bad, but it's broke. Especially frustrating due to timing. I had to teach a martial arts seminar the following (last) weekend, which I did. But I couldn't participate in any of the other classes! <grr> and I've got a D.C. vacation coming up in 2 weeks!

Who's gonna mow my lawn. :P

<sigh>

Guess I'm just carping.

Peace favor your sword,
Kirk

I do know how it feels, was Judo for many years, broke many a bone. Now I'm older, I heal much slower, so I carry a gun instead.

ROFL! Not at you, but with you and your frustrations. Injuries suck that's all there is to it. Nothing more can be said. lol That's why I started racing cars. Auto racing injuries are usually to the head and heal quicker. I'm still laughing...heal up quick.

Sorry to hear that. I hope you're back on your feet soon.

Well, I'm hobbling around OK (mostly).

I don't really do Judo for self defense, though it does have some application for that. A friend had a saying, "You don't eat with your hands, why would you fight with them?" Unarmed fighting is what you do when you don't have access to a weapon for some reason (such as in "Public School" or on a military Base). Judo is fun, slightly competitive, good exercise, inexpensive, and I get to do it with my son.

I'll heal soon, but until then there's lots of minor frustrations.

Peace favor your sword,
Kirk

I broke my nose during combatives training once at Fort Riley...looked like a panda bear for a few months.

I think it's karma saying you need a rest.
Read a good book and hog the remote I'd say.
Also a good time to learn stupid party tricks

I broke my foot once. It was bad due to the immobility of being in a cast but it didn't hurt as much as I thought it would.

I hope you heal quickly!

Thanks.

At least I can take off the boot that they give you these days instead of a cast.

I can bathe and scratch itches, etc.

Peace favor your sword,
Kirk
