Re: earthquake
I am really tired of earthquakes to tell you the truth, I'm just glad it wasn't in Alaska. We've had a crap ton of them since I moved here 2 years ago, and I was in Japan for the 9.2 deep water quake back in March. Earthquakes are no fun, but I still hate hurricanes more.

Re: earthquake
Here in Richmond VA the biggest impact was cell and text service on multiple carriers were down for over an hour. A good reminder that when SHTF you may not be able to contact your family to check their status...
Earthquake today, Hurricaine this weekend, and I think Locust are planed for Monday...

Re: earthquake
I'm about 25 miles from the epicenter - scared the crap out of me. I was freaking out and trying to look calm while I evacuated the building. I'm in charge of safety in the plant, so I was acting like a duck... cool and calm on the surface, but paddling my butt off underneath. No major damage and no injuries, thank god!

Re: earthquake
Scared the crap out of me. I was visiting my fife and I started to feel the building move side to side and at first I thought it was me, then I looked at my wife and she was moving. I went out in the hall and all the nurses were talking about it too.

Re: earthquake
Living in the midwest, an earthquake is one of my greatest fears...if the New Madrid ever goes off...everywhere east of the mississippi will feel it.

Re: earthquake
Just take this as a reminder to take inventory of your preps. Ask yourself the question, where was I at when it happened and did I have what I needed to get myself home if needed? I know I did and I didn't like the answer. Got work to do.

Did exactly that. didn't like the answer. Unfortunately, I live on the Illinois side of the River, and work on the Missouri side of the river. definately NOT ideal. IF I can get back to the IL side of the river, I'm golden. I have multiple routes mapped out, including a ferry if need be. In all other regards, Think I'm prepped.
