Rain, rain, more rain... flash flood warnings. My yard squishes when I walk on it, ground is saturated. The route I took to town goes between 2 sloughs and 200 feet of it was under 2" of water. They had a line of markers down one side and signs saying 1 car at a time and no semis. Luckily not a high traffic area so I only had to wait for one car to get through.

Only warning in my forecast is to my kids to not wake me up. I've got fresh meat in the freezer and don't have another tag to fill for 3 more weeks.

Some bad news though. The imaging study of my head showed a massive S shaped deviation in my septum. Surgical intervention required. When asked if I had ever broken my nose before, the wrong answer was, "I stopped counting 15 years ago."

Bad news #2 says I have congenital deformation of my cheek sinuses compounded by *surprise* multiple nose breaks and evidence of several....not one or two or three or four but several.....orbital floor fractures. Apparently "I used to fight a lot," is also a wrong answer.

Bit of good news. Despite all the heavy scarring and surgical interventions for my ear drums, my hearing is better than it should be. Just a few dead spots in the mid to high end. That just means I have trouble hearing conversations among the background noise.

If all the sinus issues are not bothering you, why endure surgery & recovery?

It's all tied to the issues I've been having. Lots of ear infections, sinus infections, sinus headaches, abscesses in my jaw that have ruined my teeth. Sleep apnea. Originally have my tonsils and adenoids removed, along with a tympanoplasty and partial mastoidectomy solved the problem.

Basically, the things that used to put me down for a day or two and were solved with 10 days of antibiotics are now putting me down for a week or more and require 15+ days of a much stronger antibiotic, as well as occurring more and more frequently.

I had plastic surgery after my cancer surgery, and while it didn't improve my looks, I had to wear a huge bandage on my face for weeks - while @ AT. I wouldn't recommend camping until your bandages come off.

Sinus stuff sucks, I have a deviated septum too and constant sinus infections. On a 7 day round of antibiotics right now to try and knock it down some. Problem is the sinuses do not get enough blood flow to get the antibiotic there... Last 3 weeks the left top of my head even hurt from the sinus inflammation. And it is affecting my lungs now too, hack up green crap in the morning...

First of my 4 days off. Really a recovery day. Don't know if it from the 3days I werked or the adult beverages I bought on the way home. Slightly cloudy here in DFW right now. And OH TEH NOES! I might not see part of another solar eclipse. Yes, I'm old enough to have seen a couple.
