So we are back to the E4? Sounds like simple bribery would get the job done then

RETIRED! No more working, going to enjoy what I have left of life before my back puts me in a wheelchair.

Our functional manager, an E-9, briefed the wing commander out there, a Colonel, that I was coming. But an E-4 at the Air Force Personnel Center said, "Hm. That's nice. But they need you elsewhere. Better luck next time," and here I am.
FYI, the last time I said I hated something, they put me somewhere I hated more. So not sure how much that would work.
That guy's still there? He was an E3 last time I spoke to him ('79).

Seriously, when I was in ('73 to '79), I never talked to anyone in Personnel who didn't have a bad attitude and tried to take it out on everyone else. Guess their job really sucks.

Actually I have been trying to get on an Operation Deep Freeze supply rotator for a while. Problem is, it's mostly a Guard function out of New York, so they don't really take too many active guys unless they're really hurting, and even then, they mostly just take loaders.
