Ooh that structural weakness from diagonal cutting didnt factor in my brain. Couldnt one weld up reinforcement beams and posts on the diagonals to support the roof?

How much support do we really need?
We're talking about a metal box with strengthing ribs already present. It's not like I am going to put anything on the top - maybe a sloped metal roof to shed the rain.

The angled cuts will transect 8 linear feet worth of structural ribs leaving an 11.3 ft long section of unsupported roof. The roof line at the joint will sag. You would need to add supports to prevent that from happening.
