Default March Pistol Challenge!!!

Well Guy's, welcome to the March Pistol Challenge! This is going to very similar to the Rim Fire Challenge, Just a friendly challenge where everyone from new shooters to the elite can participate. This challenge is designed to expand your knowledge of marksmanship, Learn a trick from others or give some tip's to those having trouble, and most of all to have fun shooting with friends from all over the country!

The rules of conduct of the HPFF apply to this challenge and this is only allowed out of the graciousness of the MODS hearts. If we violate the rules, it goes away. (See rules here: http://www.hipointfirearmsforums.com/Forum/index.php/board,48.0.html)
Please Just Don't Violate The Rules.

Now with that said let's get to the real fun.

For this challenge you can use any caliber or type of pistol up to 500S&W but it must be a pistol. no carbines.

Distance: 7 yards/ 21 feet. easy enough.

This months target: http://www.mytargets.com/Target30.pdf
The target attached to this post just needs to be printed full-size on 8.5x11 paper. You can submit as many targets as you want with the highest score being recorded.

Rules: This is a free hand /non-supported challenge. You get 12 shots per page, 3 shots per target.(there's 4 targets on one page)
The only restriction on ammo is no shot shells other than that use any type of ammo you wish.

Scoring: This is going to be very simular to the Rim Fire Challenge. You gets 3 shots at each of the four targets on the paper. If the bullet touches the outer line and/or the outer ring the score is 8, if the bullet touches the second line and/or the second ring the score is 9, and if the bullet touches the inner ring or the bulls-eye the score is 10 for a top score of 30 for each target, and 120 points overall. The lines just need to be broken, not cleared.

Entering your target:For anyone to enter the challenge we have 2 ways to enter.(1) just take a picture of your target ( or scan it) and upload it to photobucket.com. Then copy and paste the image code in your reply to this thread. You should also include the type of pistol and caliber used. OR (2) Take a video of you shooting your target, making sure to get a close up of the target it self once your done. Again you should include the type of pistol and caliber used. Then upload your video to youtube.com and copy and paste the link in your reply.

Here is the link for the official HPFF sticky on how to post pictures. http://www.hipointfirearmsforums.com/Forum/index.php/topic,450.0.html

If there is any confusion on how to enter a target, rules, or anything else. Feel free to send me a PM and I will try to get back to you as quickly as possible.

We are starting with any caliber for now and if we get a large number of people shooting one given caliber, then we will address that next month.

Since there is no way to ensure everyone plays fair we must rely on you to be fair and remember if you cheat you're only cheating yourself. So guy's lets keep it clean and have fun.

Good luck to all and remember safety first.

No problem I'm looking forward to it too, I'm going to enter 3 targets this month, 1 for my S&W 9mm, 1 for my 40JCP, and I'm going to try to get my wife to enter with her Taurus PT22. what are you going to shoot?

I will probably do 2 or 3. Px4 .40, cz 82, and maybe plr 22. Oh yeah, are they allowed to be scoped? It's just a red dot, no magnification...

Revolvers, autos, single shots, any pistol or hand gun is allowed. Any type of ammo is allowed with the exception of shot shells (Taurus judge, is allowed just use slugs) Ya know lets put it like this use a single solid projectile. Custom hand loads are also fine. This isnt meant to be taken too seriously just a friendly shooting challenge.

If you really feel the need to use a scope or red dot at 7yards on a handgun or pistol. Well that's a little silly but go ahead.

Oh and the PLR22 will be allowed even though it shoots a rifle round it is a hand gun. Just remember this is free hand NON-supported shooting.

BTW what do you have the red dot on and do you have pic's of it cause that just sounds cool.

could happen, i know i can outshoot my wife at live game, but she is alot better shot at targets than i am so it'll be interesting where this goes
woman are generally better shots ...
i lost alot of quarters trying to out do my mom, gave up tho she always won the last time we competed we were lighting match sticks and 22 casess hanging on threads at 25 yards ... we were pretty even until she decided the first to break the thread on one wins ... i lost
she cut the thread on 2 of the 22 case in a row ... shameful defeat hehehe

Don't feel bad my Mother is one of those wicked shots too. It got soo bad at one point that my Father sold his S&W 686 357mag and bought a S&W 629 44mag w/6inch barrel. It was soo heavy she couldn't hold it up for long to out shoot him. Then again my Mother is ex delta 15 mobile medium range missiles so she probably could have out shot him but just didn't want to.

I learned a long time ago to not even try to compete with her.
