Default Need a decent inexpensive red dot....

The one I have now turns off every time I fire. Then I have to open it, take out/put battery back in and it will work again.

Just want something that wont do that ok? :'(

1. What sight do you have now?
2. What are you mounting it on?
3. How much do want to spend?

The Tasco/BSA/TrueGlo/Barska/NC Star red dots...they all look nearly identical, are sold at Walmart and nearly any other sporting goods/gun store, and cost between $25-$40; are all decent.

I also like my Sightmark reflex red dot, Sportsman's Guide sells it, about $40.

What is inexpensive?

Sportsmans guide has an aimpoint clone (like the primary arms clone) for $62 if you're a memeber.

I have a primary arms clone, and it works great.

1. sight-x ... looks like a sightmark off brand or something. It came with the shotty I have. had the same problem with it on there too.

2. AK74...the recoil is not bad at all either. Its on a quick-attach side mounted pic. rail w a top & side rail.

3. $50 or under if possible.

Going to check those Walmart sights out tonight!

1. Never heard of sight-x before. A Chinese copy of a Chinese made sight? Yes, the Chinese copy each other. The copies are usually really bad. I see SG used to carry them: http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=242339
2. Since it has problems on a shotgun and also the AK, that says the sight is no good.
3. You can get a Sightmark for $50. At least they have a warranty.

I think Walmart has some Tasco's, they're not too bad. Since they're made for airsofts, they probably are OK for the AK. You will need something a lot stronger for the shotgun.

I bought a NC star holographic for my dad's AK. It has like six reticules and six strength settings. I had a hard time zeroing it because it has some fine screws that effect the mounting that are not in the manual. Once that was tight it was good to go. Less than fifty bucks!!
