Default Rock Island 1911 45 ACP

I was wondering if anyone has information about the Rock Island 1911? I was getting ready to buy a Hi Point 40 S&W pistol when the Rock Island 1911 reached out and grabbed me. I've read the reviews and know its a low cost weapon. However, it really got my attention. I'm looking for information from actual owners or members that have shot one. How its shoots and handles. Many thanks.

RIA's are a great value. The fit abd finish are sub par by 1911 standards, but they are great shooters. They have a limited lifetime warranty and great customer service. I love my Hi Cap 1911.

Owned a RIA compact officers model with 3.5 barrel. Put over 100 rounds through it. Gave it to my friend. I love the guy, what can I say. Shot well, handled the JHP alright, shot ball really well too. Solid reliable gun.

I also owned a Para GI Expert and Springfield Mil-Spec. Out of the 3 the RIA was my favorite shooter.

I did have to tune the extractor on mine a little but after that it's been extremely accurate and reliable. It will feed JHP and Semi-wadcutters.

ha ha i know i was curious cuz i didn't know you could get a 1911 in a double stack mag until recently I've also been looking to put one on lawaway on buds. but as far as replacement parts went i know you can use colt parts since they use the same machines that colt used in the Philippines.
