Default VZ2008 Sporter 7.62x39

ANyone have one? Anyone hear anything about these ak47 type rifles? Good, bad or indifferent?

Assembled by century arms, but from what I've read it's a lot better than other CAI WASR 10's. Priced at $350 with accessories - I i might have to pick one up.

One thing to keep in mind is that they don't use standard Ak mags, but there are plenty of available 30 rounders for sale.

Other then look. They are nowhere close to an AK. I have considered one for purchase myself. But at the end of the day I decided against it. It's just not an AK and once suprlus dries up your on your own.

Yes I know its a totally platform, but if I had to group it I'd say it falls under AK style.

And what exactly do you mean that once surplus dries up I'm on my own?

Parts and magazines are proprietary to the design. AK 7.62X39 mags are everywhere and number in the millions worldwide. How many mags did the Czechs make?

Yes, that's been established. I know its not a Kalashnikov, however it looks identical and is chambered for the same round. That's why I called it an "AK type rife" I KNOW its not an Ak variant, etc etc etc. I'm sorry for even referring to it as an "AK type" and apologize to anyone I've offended.

Does anyone have any experience on the rifle itself?

And please don't tell me that it is surpassed by the AK in production numbers and its 'not an ak'?

I already know that.

Thanks

Have you considered instead a saiga in 7.62?

But honestly I don't wanna change out the furniture.

they weight a pound less than an AK and accuracy in on par with a WASR. The reason I didn't get one was the striker fire mechanisn seames a bit soft for me. Some cheaper ammo uses some pretty hard primers.

Thanks Beowolf, This is the kind of feedback I'm looking for.
