So without a system, how do you plan to monitor this stuff? Manual chemical tests? Not monitor it at all? Other?

Well testing is not required on a daily basis, but my plan is to test with test tube chemicals unless I can find a electronic way to test. Most people only test once a month or when something is wrong.

Great information about Your operation, helomech! Good documentation with all the photos provided. And your planning looks very sound.

How are you going to retrieve all of those fish from your 'stock tank'? Dip net?

The opening look to be very small.

Thanks, I will have to lower the water level to a level that they can be scooped out. Catching those bass was a challenge. Only had about 20 fish in there and we had to get the water level down to about 1 foot deep to catch them. The opening is about 3 foot diamater.

Three feet huh? That's a lot bigger than it looks.

Any plans to making the opening larger?

What was your harvest like?

Retrieve any perch?

I am guessing 3 feet across, haven't ever measured it. But no plans to make it bigger, don't want the fish jumping out.

No fish harvest yet, just getting the system up and running. I just threw in some perch and bass from my pond until I could get some catfish or Tilapia. Still looking for tilapia, but did put in 100 channel cats on Tuesday. I have harvested, raddish, turnips, and peas so far. Should be harvesting some carrots, beets, watermelon, cucumbers, and bell peppers soon.

Took out about 20 perch, but we just fed them to the chickens, didn't have time to clean them. I had to leave for work right after I put the catfish in.
