I went out today and got a bunch of leeks, didn't find any fiddleheads or morels though.

You generally find fiddleheads in the same areas you would find skunk cabbage. Riverbanks and moist areas.

Okay, I knew what fiddleheads were, but don't know about skunk cabbage. Doesn't exactly sound appetizing. Maybe it stinks real bad when cooking?
