curious how the camera cuts about halfway through, the hard part would be gettin the right sping. To strong on shot 1 and to weak on shot 14 is no good. does wolf make a replacement for those 15rd 1911 mags? those might be good

I was also curious about the cut in the video. Welding 2 mags together is the easy part. Like you mentioned, the spring will be the cricital component and I am looking into that.

There are already high cap single stack 45 mags out there. Why not just use one of them?

I did a search on .45ACP High Cap Mags and the largest I could find in single stack was 10 rd. I would like to have 15 rds. Can you gives us any info that you know of? I have 10 CMC 1911 .45 mags for my 1911s and have considered moding a couple of those using the instructions in the sticky. 10 rd mags have 14 coils in the springs. Wolff has an extra capacity 1911 spring that has 18 coils.

.45 Cal Extented Magazine Springs

These extra long, extra coil magazine springs for Colt single stack .45 Caliber magazines have a total of 18 coils. Springs are intended for repair of custom magazines. Fitting is required. Note: Not intended to increase the capacity of standard 7 round magazine to 8 rounds.

As a retired engineer, I just like to tinker however if I can buy what I want thats usually the easy & cheapest route.

I'd be tempted to try it, but it's easy enough to change magazines.

I'll buy one, give it a try and tinker if it doesn't work. I live 10 miles from MidwayUSA so I can save the shipping cost. Like you said, it's easy to change mags which I have a good supply of however why not have more rds if you can!

I'd sooner buy two more hi-point mags that actually work.

I ordered a three pack of 1911 fifteen round mags that have good reviews and will do the 1911 to Hi-Point conversion shown in the video link below. I'll add some sort of sleave material to the exposed mag area to improve aesthetics.

The mags:
