So do I on the look of the 22. I was thinking of using TRU OIL then Sheen conditioner. it dulls it to matte to flat. But you still get the protection for the stain and wood. That Ebony stain is almost always the first thing I use on a stock. it really pulls out the grains and imperfections in the wood. Love the stuff.

Update:
The H&R STOCK is cool as hell😈.

The Glenfield 25 stock has a coat or 2 of TRU OIL. It needs a few more but I'm just spraying it on and smoothly. After it is sealed I will use Caseys sheen conditioner. It will make it dull and worn looking. Ajole you were right weathered and worn make it look cool

I'm glad you went with the red, I knew it would pop.

Now how are you going to do the steel? With wood that red I'd think it would need a deep glossy blue
